Kia have announced (according to autoexpress!!!), that the next Kia Soul will have a four wheel drive option and will spin a 2 seater MX5 rival off the same platform.
Okay Tempest, a 4x4 options would be cool. Or really, all wheel drive, which is different.Kia have announced (according to autoexpress!!!), that the next Kia Soul will have a four wheel drive option and will spin a 2 seater MX5 rival off the same platform.
I sincerely apologize. I had no idea it was your wife's leg.
anybody who knows the autoexpress mag knows that the pics are photoshopped and the stories are pretty much 50% fabrication..... i was merely reporting what was printed.Okay Tempest, a 4x4 options would be cool. Or really, all wheel drive, which is different.
BUT, the picture you posted is a joke. You're not fooling me old man. The picture is nothing more than a Soul of another color with some photoshop work done. The original Miata (MX5) beater. It would be a Pontiac Solstice GXP to be exact. Even on a bad day, our resident photoshop expert Marc can best this effort. Now don't even tell me you've never seen at least a picture of a Solstice GXP? Over there you've at least seen it's sister car, the Opel GT?
I'll go get a picture and be back....and here you go......
Now that would require prior knowledge on my part that one of you, or both of you, or neither of you routinely shaves legs. Making any assumption is not wise.
In any case, the pictures are still fake.
not all wheel drive. 4 X 4 like rockcrawler.Know anyone who can build one? From what I read about the all-wheel drive Soul, it is speculation at this point. Did you read somewhere that this is official info?
Here is what I read:
Kia is also reportedly working on a small, all-wheel-drive vehicle to slot below the Sportage. The Soul is due for a revamp within the next two years, so it makes sense that the funky hatchback could get all-wheel drive as part of its overhaul.

The question is, How much do you want to spend? If the answer is a lot, someone will build you one.not all wheel drive. 4 X 4 like rockcrawler.Know anyone who can build one?
We have an event every year in Indianapolis, IN called GENCON. I met a Kia engineer when I picked him up as I was doing uber. (this was before the pandemic.) He said there IS an AWD version of the soul, but it's only sold in Korea. Something about patents in the US that aren't valid in Korea, so they made the AWD version only in Korea.Considering this thread was started 9 years ago about a rumoured 4x4 Soul, we all know how that turned out 🤠
That's cool that there is a version of 4x4 Soul in Korea. I wonder if it's the one with the rear wheels having an electric assist motor (hey, technically it's a 4x4, right?). I'd love to see a YouTube review on this vehicle. We have an event every year in Indianapolis, IN called GENCON. I met a Kia engineer when I picked him up as I was doing uber. Considering the Seltos is AWD, I wonder if that means we MIGHT get a AWD version of the SOUL in the near future, or if they are going to replace our beloved Soul with the Seltos. Only time will tell, but I figured I would share what I was told last year. Haven't been able to confirm this with anyone in Korea though yet, so I don't know if he was telling the truth or pulling my leg.
A unibody with true 4wd is generally going to suck. There's a reason that virtually all true 4WD vehicles are cab on frame. No manufacturer wants to go through the trouble of beefing up the rest of the structure that is going to be subject to a lot of torsional stress from mechanically-locked drivetrains.not all wheel drive. 4 X 4 like rockcrawler.Know anyone who can build one?
