Back to the gas cap....
I got a code and bad acceleration on my Suzuki SX4, so I grabbed my cell phone and called my dealer. (try that sometime) Once I explained the problem, my Service Manager suggested that I remove the gas cap, and then put it back on, making sure it clicked several times. On that car it would keep clicking as long as you kept tuning.
Now, on the KIA Soul, it will only click once. Same with the oil filler cap.
The idea is to make sure that the rubber seal, on the cap, is well seated, and not Over Tightened.
JFWIW.....(Just for what it's worth)
At every oil change, I take the gas cap off, and thoroughly clean the rubber seal, then lubricate it with DC-4 (Dow Corning #4 Silicone Lubricant)
Buy Dow Corning DC 4 electrical insulating compound at SkyGeek. This grease-like compound provides a moisture proof seal.

In the 8 years that I've been driving KIA's, I've never had a problem with my gas cap not sealing properly.
Cheers Mates!
