hi, just got a new soul last monday, and i really like it! it's a base model with the standard cd/mp3/radio setup with usb/aux inputs
however, i'm having a problem with the usb port to play music. i did do a search, and never really got a definitive answer.
i have a 16GB hp flash drive that i loaded with about 10GB worth of music. i have them listed by artist. then in each artist folder, i have album folders. from there the individual songs in mp3 format.
the thumb/flash drive IS formatted in fat32. the songs are in MP3 format. the owners manual says that it can read folders and subfolders.
i'll stick the flash drive in the usb port, and it will say "reading usb" for like 5 minutes. then it will say "reading error". it wont play the usb.
only ONE TIME it somehow played the flash drive. i skipped to a new folder and started playing a song. it skipped over the next song, and played track 3. then it restarted and went all the way back to the first folder/album.
what's going on? 16GB shouldn't be too big. right? and i've searched, and i know it's fat32, and they are mp3's.
why won't it play? do i need to just have only album folders? if so, that sucks cause i like to have everything grouped by artist. not alphabetized.
and i dont have iphone, so that's not an option. and i do have an mp3 player that i can use an aux cable to connect...but that's a pain to turn off the mp3 player everytime...and i feel the audio quality isn't good enough when it's going through a cable.
any help is much appreciated!
