Severely Uncomfortable Drivers Seat

I just got my Soul + last week, and I love just about everything about it EXCEPT the drivers seat cushion- everyone on line seems to say the seats are comfortable, and it seemed ok at first, but the longer I drive it I am getting lasting pain in my hips and glutes from where the bolster hits on the sides- I'm only 5'8 and 166 so I'm not an out of the ordinary size or shape- has anyone else had any issues with this or am I the only one?

not that my comment will really help, but I found the Soul seat to be a lot more comfy than the Scion xb I looked at and better than my Mazda MPV and better than my previous Geo Prizm. so.. who knows, maybe something unique to you.

Not that comfortable

I have to say that I don;t find the driver's seat all that comfortable. I took a three hour trip this weekend and wasn't all that pleased. I'm 5'11'' with a short torso and I don't think the seat goes down far enough. The seats seem to be narrow. I came from a Mazda 3 so I'm not used to a giant suv by any means. I would agree that the seats are not that comfortable and not a high point of the Soul.

I find the seats quite comfortable - not in a cushy sort of way, but nicely supportive. Made a 500 mile trip with no issues whatsoever. I do think that seats in a new car need several weeks to break in and conform to their owner.

I just drove my new + home last night and couldn't help but notice that it feels like I'm about to slide out of the seat. Almost like it's tilted too far forward even though the up/down adjustment is all the way down.

Just my $0.02.

If it's all the way down, then your seat is tilted down. When you jack it up the front tilts up more than the back.

I've put 8500 miles on my Soul since August and I find the seats super-comfortable, even on the 600+ mile drive to NC from NJ. And back.

The seats are exceptionally poor.

I have back issues and it is sensitive to micro trama. The lower lumbar support of Soul is terrible. I've had to resort to strapping in a back support. It is unfortunate because I know the support is eventually going to damage the fabric and foam of the driver's seat.

No other car I've ever been in is as bad as Soul. I can be in my Subaru (lowered and stiffend suspension) for almost two hours before I really do have to get out because of the pain.

I sometimes find it hard to be in Soul for over thirty minutes. Had I been able to take a 40 minute test drive I would not have purchased Soul because of the poor seats. The front seats are my number one complaint.

Not to sound rude because that's not my intention but with the number of complaints you have about your car I really think you should get rid of your Soul....if it were me and I was as unhappy with it as you appear to be that's what I would do....there should be big sales on Toyotas soon.

I have back issues too, and these seats have been fantastic. My mother and father, both in their late 50's, agreed and said they were extremely comfortable. Now that I've commuted 300 miles in them, 53 miles each way, I really love them. Very supportive.

dang - i'd hate to be a seat designer - there's just no possible way to overcome the fact of life that all butts ain't created equal -

but, since the large majority of comments seem to like the seat, it would seem appropriate for the majority of us to consider ourselves to be average butts -

The seats in the Soul suck compared to the seats in my 95 Grand Cherokee. I could fall asleep in the Jeep's cushiony seats.

The Soul's seats are okay. I'm 21 so I'm not really picky...I can sit on it. I agree that they are supportive and firm, and they are noticeably better than a bunch of other cars I've driven. My butt does fall asleep every once in a while when I drive over an hour.

I agree that thye are not very comfortable seats. I can't pin it down to anything specific, but I notice that I tend to slip down after a while and I need to push myself up with my feet to sit up in a straight position, otherwise my lower back starts to hurt.
