Hello,
I just got used Kia Soul 2013 6-MT base model and want to install cruise control.
According to this thread, it seems like just replacing steering wheel with the one with cruise control switch works as long as the car uses electronic throttle, not wired throttle.
How do you know if my car is using electronic or wired throttle?

If you need more information, please let me know.

thanks in advance!

Ok, not trying to be a dick here, but open the hood. Look down at the thrttle body, If there is just an electrical plug going into it and nothing else, it is electronic. If there is also a cable feeding to a manual looking device on the side of the throttle, you have a cable/wired throttle. If you are unsure, feel free to post up a pic of your throttle body, and I am sure one of us can help you identify it.

On a 2013 it is drive by wire. No cable. Yes, you can just put the steering wheel on that has the cruise controls. I did it 8+ years ago and it still works like a charm (I have a 2013 MT base model). There's no cruise light on the dashboard - you have to change the BCM to get that - but other than that it works just like it should - you can cruise/accelerate, start, stop cancel etc. I used a leather Kia Forte steering wheel.

Hello, I bought a used Forte's steering wheel and it's on the way. I'm excited to replace mine with it and see how things are gonna work as I expected.
Thank you very much for your confirmation.
About BCM, do you know any thread or useful information about replacing BCM?
