Hi all, my first post here. I own a 2020 Kia soul EX+ (Canadian model). Three different dash lights have been on since last week, plus the warning to check LKA and FCA system. Lane keep is not working (I can't test forward collision.) while blind spot assist and engine start/stop are still working. I am suspecting that excessive heat might affect the radar/camera system under the windshield, because the car was parked under almost 40 degrees (104F) of heat at my work before the lights pop up. I will probably bring it to the dealer this week. I am just wondering if anyone have this problem as well?

Update 2020/06/25: Dealer replaced the front view camera assembly under warranty and it is working fine now, they also did a TCU/IVT update as well.

I would start checking fuses. While 104F seemsuprisngly hot for Canada. In the southern part of the US that temperature is considered a mild summer days. Most automotive grade components are designed to operate in at least a 140 F environment. Not saying a component failed prematurely, but i would not expect 104 F to be the cause of failure.

Just a quick update as I did not have time/tool to pull the fuse to check it. I start my car after work today(similar scenario:Very hot day, car parked for 8 hours under the sun) and Voila! The check LKA/FCA lights are gone during my entire drive home and LKA is working properly. It really confuses me because between the last hot day and today, the check LKA/FCA lights were lit on every drive.

We're having this same exact problem with our 2020 Soul, with only 400 miles on it. Went to the dealer today and they said the same thing, that the front camera needs replaced. Only problem is they said there are no cameras available in the entire United States, so they don't know how long it will take to get one in. Not happy.

I had this issue a year ago (in 2022) with my 2019 Kia Optima. My Kia dealer replaced front camera and that wasn't it. They ended up replacing the Front Collision System Sensor under warranty thankfully because it would have been $4,500 because they had to take the entire dash apart. That was 10 months ago from today. My issue at that time was the triangle dash light and the collision dash light was illuminated and would go away for about 30 minutes after the dealership worked on it but when I drove off, it always came back on. That is when they replaced the main front collision system sensor and all lights stayed off after that.

Two days ago ALL of my lights came on my dash (engine, tires, parking brake, ABS, electrical steering, lane assist didn't work but was lit up, collision sensor, triangle light, traction control). Three warnings came up, "Check Front Collision System", "Check high beam assist", and "Check blind spot warning system". My speedometer and odometer did not work at all. My steering wheel was super loose to turn at times and other times harder to turn. My car also felt to be cutting out sometimes (RPM related?). I took to O'rielly Auto Parts and they ran their code reader on it and got only P2159 and suggested I take to a dealership. Since the closest Kia dealer is 2 hours away, I took to my local Ford dealer to see if they could just scan it and see what it said. They told me they weren't able to read it properly and all they could get was I need to replace front camera sensor but I would need to take to an actual Kia dealership. I made an appt to get it read next Monday.

I have been reading online forums pertaining to this issue. Since I just had my front camera and front collision system replaced 10 months ago, I didn't think that would be it. The P2159 code was specific to maybe some wiring to my transmission for my speed limiter thing? I don't know, I am not a mechanic. I have heard that the auto part store scanner is mostly for minor issues and doesn't pop up with as many codes as an actual dealer would have.

A forum I read was that sensors in Kia's are VERY sensitive and if obscured or blocked or if you use your windshield wipers for too long can set off all of your dash lights. I live in a desert town with lots of dust/dirt roads. I haven't washed my car in months and it was quite dusty. I sprayed off my windshield and grill without scrubbing it and it made all the lights go off BUT the check engine and my speedometer/odometer started working and my RPM issue was gone. Lane assist still did not work. Later in the evening I completed a full car wash myself at home and scrubbed my windshield exterior where the sensor was and sprayed my front grill some more but not too excessive. I dried and cleaned up and turned on my car and the check engine light went off and my lane assist is now working as normal. I am not a mechanic, I don't know anything in depth about cars but I take care of my car and have it maintenanced regularly, keep quarter of a tank or more at all times in my car and keep good tires on it. So far my car has been back to normal. I am still keeping my appt to have it checked out just in case. Does anyone with Kia electrical experience know if the electrical is tied in to one another where if one thing trips out it makes the entire system trip out?

Basically a car wash worked in this particular case. My last issue was under warranty and my sensors/camera was replaced.

Probably dust build up in front of the camera causing light glare when you drive directly into the sun .. this will reset itself automatically, but will recur next time you drive directly into the sun. I have the same problem and am looking for instructions on removing the housing cover which sits behind the driver's cabin rear view mirror.
