It looks a little like the bronco, just smaller, and yeah the Renegade too.

When I think Chevy Spark, I think of this little car. Too bad it’s electric, but just as well because GM would have thrown that 1.2L 3 cylinder turbo GDI and a CVT in it for ultimate reliability. I wonder if it is going to be sold in the US?

Seems like the new spark is a rebadged GM-China model

Looks like a bronco to me to compete with ford. I wonder if it will have a bronco price.

I like the way that car looks. If the price was right I might buy one, assuming I liked the rest of it. The Soul was a ripoff of the Scion Xb anyway. Everyone rips off everyone else's good idea instead of reinventing the wheel.

I like that the 2026 Spark EUV doesn't appear to have a full length center console.

When I was T-boned while driving a Honda Accord, I had a heck of a time getting my feet & legs over the center console in order to exit out the passenger door as exiting out the drivers door was not an option.

I hope Kia keeps the Soul around.
I'm not a totally new member here, but have lurked since 2021 when we bought daughter a used 2018 Soul +.
Fast forward to the other day and wife and I bought ourselves a 2025 Soul LX with a few options.

When we were at the dealer the sales guy said:
"You know, this will be the last year for the Soul. "

Which is why we bought now rather than wait and find there will not be another year for Soul.
I truly hope not.
I was glad to see in 2020-21 or so, Kia went back to the 2.0L MPFI engine.
Yes, the 1.6L turbo and previous 2.0L Gasoline Direct Injection engine had a bit more power . . . but I favor the Multi Port Fuel Injection for better long term reliability and less probability of oil consumption due to engine oil fuel dilution from GDI.
I just hope the IVT in the past model couple years has good long term life.

When we were looking for a new car, I asked my brother, a Honda/Accura Tech, what to avoid. His recommendation was to stay away from turbo charged engines. They blow head gaskets and need to have turbos replaced early, he keeps his cars for over 200k miles and currently has 2 Hondas and a Buick LeSabre. I looked around and liked the 2023 Soul for a few reasons, including the 2L naturally aspirated engine. I do wish it had a regular transmission, the CVT feels like driving with a rubber band.

We also just purchased a used 2024 Forte with the same drive train. It is quieter and gets better gas mileage, probably due to its shape. It doesn't feel as roomy as the Soul, which has a great amount of usable space for such a small footprint.

I sold cars for a number of years . For the most part , I LOVED selling vehicles. I still hold the record for the cars in one day . Seventeen !!!
Not all salesmen are crooks . I was taught to pressure each sale , but I wouldn't do it
The owner didn't like my casual way of selling ! He didn't like my sales pitch ! Push , push push ( his way ) He didn't have much to say when I set the still unbroken number.
I just treated people like l wanted to be treated . If you said just looking , l would give them my card and tell them to ask for me if you have questions. Most people liked my technique. A lot of those sales came AFTER I started to walk away . When the owner wanted to pool our sales and split the profit , was the last day I worked for him . I was NOT going to split 17 sales , while another salesman sits by and watch . That and telling him that I would not sell Explorers ( exploders ) . I had gotten calls from concerned customers.
I moved on to a strictly used car lot and made him mad too . I would tell prospective buyers to go to a trusted mechanic to check it over . Not what my boss wanted . He didn't tell me to exactly lie , but if they don't ask don't tell . That them from the " Bible thumping boss " ! I told him I would not lie to sell vehicles . His words were ," It's not a lie if I just don't tell them . " I handed him my keys and walked !

..

Good for you, don't ever change. A real.honest skilled salesperson doesn’t have to lie, pressure to make sales. Your approach, respect for customers reflects that. 17 in one day ! Great time management, cosidering the paperwork when you close each deal.
Just a guess, you had plenty of repeat customers when they moved on to their next car ?
Thanks for respecting your customers.

I was at the dealership yesterday for an oil change and state inspection. I was chatting with a salesman and he said that Kia has stopped manufacturing the 2025 Souls already. They just received their last 2.

The AI overview seems to disagree:

Yes, Kia will release a 2026 model year Kia Soul in the United States. The 2026 model is expected to have similar features to the 2025 model, with the possible addition of a new styling package.

Why the Kia Soul is popular

The Kia Soul is a subcompact hatchback that's Kia's most affordable crossover. It's known for being fuel-efficient and roomy for its size.

What to expect in 2026
The 2026 Kia Soul is expected to be similar to the 2025 model, with the possible addition of a new styling package.

Additional information about the Kia Soul
  • The Soul is a boxy hatch/SUV crossover that's roomier than it looks.

  • It doesn't offer all-wheel drive and doesn't have a traditional SUV look.

  • With proper care and maintenance, Kia Souls can last around 10 to 13 years or 150,000 to 200,000 miles.

The AI on DuckDuckGo search gets its information from other searches and websites and has said the same thing. So it basically just sums up other people speculating what’s going to happen to the Soul. I’ve heard it say the Soul will get a 2nd refresh instead of a new generation. I wouldn’t mind that option if it kept the Soul around longer, but I don’t trust it either.

Wow. It has all the look and feel of a real press release, something that Corporate Kia would send out to the dealers and let them put it on their websites. A lot a Kia dealer websites use a patterned approach, a couple of versions published by corporate so there is some family uniformity. I have no evidence to doubt it's authenticity.

The automotive press at the moment is distracted by the whole tariff thing. Latest I have read is that South Korea is all over the idea of a negotiated deal, keeping both trading partners happy. If they do, and since Hyundai/Kia already has a strong presence here, 2026 Kia Soul's maybe on the way without interruption.

A new user @Carizma22 tried posting this earlier but it got caught in the spam filter. Sorry, there’s nothing I can do about that, the spam filter doesn’t like 1st posts with links.

Take this for what it’s worth, who knows if it’s true, I hope it is.

Hard to tell what is real over the net
Yeah, they had me going also. I saw 3 different pictures of rear of car/ taillights, 2 differnt front pictures. One of rear pics looked like an upgraded Seltos. Guess it is click bait for the we site.
Do wish that Kia corporate would sic their lawyers on these fakes.
I do hope the Soul lives on. Great loyal ownership base. Look how many Forums posters are multiple Soul owners. Despite the GDI problems, piston ringsetc. Still, less problems than Toyota or UAW cars..First time in her life my Wife has bought the same car for her next. Brcause she liked her first one.

I would hope that a Kia dealer, who is in business to sell new Kia Soul automobiles would release accurate information about them. That being said, the internet is getting to be such a problem vis a vis credibility, like you I have a real hard time verifying the real. I would like to see something on the Kia corporate site.

Some observations:

@anonimaus claim that 2025 model year Kia Soul production stopped in December 2024 is very believable and would seem to be in keeping with past Kia Soul production schedules. My 2016 model was manufactured in July 2015 per the tag in the door frame.

@Carizma22 account created to publish an announcement from "Kia of Beavercreek":

"Kia of Beavercreek" seems to be in a suburb of Dayton Ohio and "carizma22"is claiming to be from Houston Texas. Sure, I suppose it is possible a customer in Houston Texas was browsing car dealers in Dayton Ohio and created an account here to share this big scoop he found.

Of course none of that proves anything but if there is going to be a 2026 Kia Soul, it won't be officially announced for a few months and won't be for sale until later than that.

It comes up when doing a duck duck go search. It seems to be a real Kia dealer, so hopefully they’re not misleading their customers.

Could be a chicken or egg scenario though. Did a person in Houston Texas discover a 2026 Kia soul announcement from Dayton Ohio and decide to publish, or did misleading spam, maybe out of Houston, elevate search results?

I think it goes back to:
The modern business model rewards "clicks" as truthfulness is tossed out the window.

Thank goodness ! While I am not looking for a new Soul. wouldn't want other folks getting stuck with the GDI problems.
If you are asking about the Kia Soul then the answer is no. The 2.0l 4 cylinder used since 2020 is MPI.

There was a turbo gdi 1.6l available through 2023 I believe but has been discontinued in the Soul.
In the newer 2.5L used in larger cars they use both MPI+GDI, kinda like Toyota’s D-4S system.

I believe the V6 is still GDI only and the 1.6L Turbo is too, but the 2.0L used in Soul is back to MPI.
I'm hoping my Wife’s 2024 Soul S is MPI. Belive it is.

For all the lawsuits, bad press, usually sourced from "journalists" that have little or no expertise or standing in the automotive press, Hyundai/Kia seems to be doing remarkably well in the one area that matters. Sales. When customers put money on the table, I tend to give that more weight than words.

I see an awful lot of gen1 and gen2 Kia Souls around. If they were self destructing at an alarming rate, I would see them in quantity in my local junkyard. They are neither under or over represented. And casual conversation with the owner of that facility confirms my observations.
