I am a retired educator, biker, and still active musician from North Las Vegas, NV. Purchased this car two days ago and will take delivery tomorrow. Was not really thinking about a Soul when I was looking for a replacement for a 2015 Nissan Altima. I thought I had my choices narrowed to two used cars: 2025 Hyundai Kona and 2025 Nissan Kicks. Drove both and they were ok. Test drove the Soul after seeing it advertised on a dealer site and was very pleased with the handling, acceleration, technology, and a killer stereo. I hope to learn a lot from folks on the forum that have longer experience with the Soul.

Yes . . . welcome here. The 3rd generation Kia Soul has a lot to like we think also.
The ride, handling, responsive performance and roomy interior is very satisfying.

Surprised. . . how did you like the Hyundai Kona and Kicks compared to the 2023 Soul GT Line ?

I thought the Kicks and Kona were good looking cars. Acceleration in both was so-so. I did like the the extended dashes - Kicks had two 12-inch screens. However, the Soul had a lot more pep - I have to really monitor my speed on the freeway; the Soul has the Navigation system included, a moon roof, and a most delightful sound system. It also has a few options like the interior lighting effects, though superfluous, I think the grandkids will get a kick out of.

Thanks for the observations on the Kicks and the Kona. I looked at each also before buying our 2025 Soul LX. Didn't drive ether but wondered how the Kona was based on a few reviews I read of the Kona.
I saw that it has the same 2.0L MPI engine as our Kia Soul, but is a bit heavier if I recall. And reviews mentioned "lack luster" performance.

I find the Kia Soul to be spirited around town or on the interstate . I find myself still driving a bit too fast on streets in town and two lane highway. On the interstate it cruises along nicely and on ramp acceleration is very good.
I had occasion to get on the pedal a few times and pushing down toward the floor quickly to about 3/4 throttle makes the transmission go feel like it downshifts and then 2 "simulated" up shifts can be felt.
It moves along nicely and still gets really decent MPG.

Plus. .. as posted in the following thread ( Post #99 ) last week I obtained a 39.5 MPG over 315 mile road trip
of 15% town/highway and 85% interstate at 70 to 75 MPH.

I am only on my second day with the Soul and attained 44 MPG on my initial drive home which was mostly all freeway. I am still seeing 30 to 35 around town. Of course, I don't know if it is because of an overly optimistic on-board computer or it is just that good. Still very pleased with overall performance. I have not had time to check out the Kia monitoring service or many of the other features. But, there's next week.
