I have a 2019 Soul on 235/45R18 tires, I have the opportunity to purchase winter tires with rims but they are size 205/55R16, does anyone know if they would fit or if they would create any issues?

What a coincidence I just put on winter tires size 205/55R16. To answer your question, no problems at all. Your stock 235/45-18 tires are 26.3" tall same as my 215/55-17s.

The 205/55-16 is only 25" tall so you will have more fender gap might look a little goofy at first. But the Gen 1 Soul base tires were only 25" (195/65-15) so it works out ok I don't think it looks too horrible.

I know compared to GPS my speedometer read slow with the 26.3" tall tires. Maybe will read correctly or just a little bit fast with the 25"s.

If I was spec'ing new snow tires for 16" rims for my Soul I would go closer to 26" (205 or 215/60-16) but I got an incredible deal on these and they fit just fine. I say jump on the deal if it's a good price

I hit this while on my way to a job that wound up being scrubbed this morning. It made for a nice test, not so much because of the depth of the snow as the character of the road.

The video is dash cam footage, hence the mediocre quality. It also may take a little while for the higher-definition video to be processed. I just uploaded it. Here's s still picture from the same trip.
