Has anybody used this to remove decal residue on back window and paint from removing the "soul" emblem? Is it okay to use? If not, what do you recommend? Thanks!! It wont let me upload the picture but its called Goof Off Pro Strength Remover. Its in a yellow can type container thing.
I would try some plain old low odor mineral spirits first. That will usually gently dissolve most soft adhesives, then wash that down with soap and water. Goof Off stuff is pretty low abrasive so it probably won't hurt anything but always work from mild to strong. Mineral spirits won't hurt anything on your paint or car. A little kerosene will work more or less the same way. Wear gloves either way. And wash it with soap to neutralize that when you're done.
I used goof off to clean up after I removed the dealership badge. It work good and didn't hurt the paint. I also washed the area really good when I was done.
I am in Canada and got it at A Canadian tire store, I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to get at at advance auto or an Ace hardware store as recommended by soyomb. Good luck.
Pat.
I've always used Simple Green. It's safe on paint and glass, though you may need to use windex to remove streaks from the glass afterwards. And it can remove some really tough stuff, like road tar.
I've used WD40 with no issues, if you're out and you have hand sanitizer, that also works (surprisingly well). I haven't had any issues with neither and it gets the job done. I've gotten road tar and sticky gunk on my rims on my old Honda Fit before and a generous amount of hand sanitizer on an old clean t-shirt or a clean rag gets the job done. Hope this helps.
