Had rodents in engine bay leave droppings and urine. Air smelled. Dealer cleaned out engine bay.
Issue is better but still a smell when first turning on vehicle and HVAC set to fresh air. Not when on recirculated air.

Sprayed Simple Green Pet deodorizer/cleaner in intake vents. Smell still there when I first start vehicle.

Wondering if there is a dead rodent in HVAC system which is not an uncommon problem in vehicles.

Does anyone know if the design of the Soul might prevent a rodent from getting in the HVAC system?

Sorry to hear about the rodent problem jwblue. Their droppings and urine are (nearly?) impossible to fully get rid of. Hopefully there isn't a dead one in the HVAC system. Have you noticed any flies in the car? Usually that follows as decomposition takes place.

If urine got in the seats, that smell is going to be around forever. Again, sorry to hear about this. They ruin everything they come in contact with.

Fortunately only engine bay and not cabin.

No flies.

Do I need t go to an HVAC specialist to deal with this issue?
