Got some new wheels and rims for our 2016 Soul Base. We went with the 17s on the rims (Helo HE894s) as a compromise between 16s and 18s, plus the rim we chose only came in 17s so that made it easy. Went with a larger profile 215/55 tire to make up the difference and not roughen ride comfort. They look great and seem to so far feel better in the ride. As rough as the ride is in these cars anyway the trade off was worth the looks, cause mamma’s gotta look good in her ride! (Wife is primary driver). Also put in fog lights and just wired them up to a dedicated switch so we can have high beams and dogs all at once. Just can’t forget to switch them off when we get home. Put in a amplified sub-woofer under the passenger seat as well (momma likes her bass too!) Might look into some mud flaps as the tires stick out a bit more than stock and will give it an even more aggressive look. Anyway, wanted to show it off so her it is. 215/55-17 is the factory size on the OEM 17s, so you picked the right fitment, even if it's taller than the tires on the base's 16s.

17x7.5 +40 is the spec? I'm assuming these are the right ones:

What's the wheel weight? Does it look like you have room for 10mm more tire going outwards, like a 235 wide?

Info on the sub?
