So my wife had a slight run in with the side view mirror and the garage door jam last week and we are now in need of a new piece of trim. There is nothing wrong with the mirror glass, or the painted part of the mirror frame. Only the black ring of trim that goes around the mirror is messed up.

We called our dealer and they said they can order us just the mirror glass, or the entire mirror assembly (unpainted), but not just the black trim piece.

I was wondering of someone here with easy access to the parts list could confirm this for me. I'd rather not spend over $150 for the mirror assembly just for new $3 pc of trim.

If it is the case, then I will spend the time to check local salvage yards. Perhaps someone else's crashed Soul can serve as an organ donor. In this case, an ear lobe donor.

I'm not able to take a photo right now, so let me see if I can explain it.

If you are sitting in the car, what you see is the mirror itself, a gap around the mirror or course, and then a black plastic ring around the outside. This black ring is attached to the painted section of the main housing. It's like a corner molding that goes all around to form the edge.

Looks Like It's True

According to the picture and the listing, you can only get the full mirror assembly and the glass. Although when you get the mirror assembly it says "#w/Trim Panel Removed". I'll bet it comes not attached so they can paint the mirror assembly then put the black trim piece on afterwards.

where can I buy the glass for the passenger side mirror I was stupid and hit a mail box and the glass shattered. the rest seems alright just a white mark on back that I can probably buff out. I even have the backing plate looks like nothing broke but the glass and the backing plate just popped out. I should be able to pop it right back in once I attach new glass right? thanks in advance.
