Recently got a Soul with 2.0 engine, automatic. It has a dashboard indication for Liters per 100Km (Canadian models), which I've been watching. Around town have been getting about 7.3 /7.4 readouts mainly (about 39 mpg, which I still have to get to make sense), and am happy with that, if the vehicle calculation is correct, driving about 50/70/80 k/hr according to the limits around here. I was surprised to find that after a highway trip-- when I thought I should get even better gas mileage, I got WORSE! Any highway driving soon send the indication up to 8.0 - 8.3 L/100km (34 mpg). Anyone else experiencing this situation-- poorer gas mileage on the highway than around town? Is the dash readout accurate? I intend to do the normal fillup to filllup measure in a few days when we anticipate long highway / city combinations to see just how that compares.
