You do realize that you can buy one from the dealership with a warranty for around $1100 for a remanufactured one. I've also seen this odd used pricing with engines, had an insurance company want to total out a 16 Sorento because of damaged block and used engines with 100k on them were 5k where a Kia engine was 2700 and around 5500 installed with Kia warranty. Of course you're welcome to ask any price you want I was just pointing out that you may want to call your local dealer and ask for a price so that you would price yours accordingly. The caveat is that the dealer will need a core and it doesn't sound like you're asking for a core so that may well be a great price for someone in the situation where they have no core.
