Kia Display Audio Software Update 10/24/22

Today, Kia just released an update to the infotainment software for many of their models.

Starting this thread to see if anyone has tried updating theirs and what changes have been made.

In clicking through to the download pages, it appears that this update is only applicable to the 2022 Soul. The Gen1/Gen2 references are for the software rather than Soul generations.

Sorry, my bad. You're right. Wonder why only the 22? Wonder if it works on any other year's. You'd think all gen 3 would be the same.

I don't know what it does, but my 2016 is working fine there's no way in he11 I'd try installing some update. 🤣 don't fix what ain't broke!!

I checked with Kia via phone and was told that this update is good for Gen4 and all Gens above 4.

Ummm, I don’t believe we are in Gen 4 on the Soul. The current Gen is gen 3.

According to my specs my 2020 EX is Gen 5W - which was confirmed by the Kia agent I spoke with. So I assume yours is too.

Perhaps, it‘s the UVO/navigation generation. Not the vehicle generation.

Exactlly - it is not the vehicle generation. The specs I have are that it is "Gen5W Navigation". And the Kia agent said it was specifically the Navigation software and the Oct.24 update was OK to download.

I don't have any sound from my radio speaker's and I don't know if there is a mute button on it please let me know my kia soul is a 2018
