Here's a challenge...........Today, here in Canada, it's CANADA DAY.........the celebration of the forming of Canada as we know it. After only 2 entries in Soul Of The Month in June, I want to see if y'all Americans can come up with 4 entries for July's competition BY JULY 4TH. Come on, you know there's oodles of wonderful Souls in the 'States, so it's time to do your country proud and show 'em off! Of course, anyone else from anywhere can enter, but I'm challenging the US to show us 4 by the 4th!

Important Dates

Now through July 25th: Submission Entries. Please post your entries and pictures in this thread. (Submissions after 11:59PM on the 24th will not be included in the competition)

July 25th through end of the month: A poll will be added containing the entered submissions. A voting poll will be created so that all members get the chance to vote on their favorite. The person with the most votes at the end of the month will be the winner for the month of July!

Submissions must include:

3 photos; no more, no less. NO collages. Show off your Soul to its best advantage.

Add a Modifications list if you prefer

*Pictures must be of current state of car... only exception is winter tires. Parts currently for sale or waiting to be installed may not be included. If your wheels/retros/suspension/etc. are currently for sale, even if still on car, they cannot be listed in the mod list. Cars that are currently for sale may not be submitted. No "Future Modifications" either*

NOTE: Previous winners of Soul Of The Month may not enter the competition again until 1 year after winning.

But I just get really tired of people entering BONE STOCK Souls to this contest. Some almost win too! It makes no sense to me at all. Also, mods list is just that. MODS. I saw people entering their Souls a couple months ago and putting FACTORY FEATURES as mods. Sunroof? Heated seats? UVO or whatever? Sorry, but not a mod. I don't mean to offend anybody or rant, but it's been eating at me for a very VERY long time. I'm not the only one who thinks it either. Anything that is "of the Month" should be special. Unique. But honestly, there is not much that is unique about a stock car...at least most of them. (Again, no offense, but it's kinda true)

Again, sorry for ranting, I've just kept it bottled for a long time and it's been annoying the hell out of me.

Hmmm. Maybe I should re-enter mine again! :wink:

I have put a few SSD items on mine (muffler, engine cover) but have been diving into the Hyundai forums to see what I can actually do with the Nu 2.0L motor. I found a few mods for performance that I want to try, but I better put in the chassis braces before I get too crazy. I also would like to get into the auto trans and reprogram shift points.

Of course, these mods are things that are not viewable in a picture . . . unless I post my times from a track! :greedy_dollars:

You are eligible to enter again cbetts. The rules clearly state 3 photographs, no more, no less...........but they just assume they will be of the Soul. Timing slips might catch you some votes

Cbetts, I would love to hear if any of your motor or suspension mods actually do make much of a difference in lap times. If do, I'll vote for you.

The only measurement I have done is with a butt dyno. So far, very little difference. The SSD muffler sounds good but only noticable on the lower end. I have been surprised on handling and thought it would be pretty top heavy . . . at least until I accidentally drifted around a turn trying to make a light.

I thought the same thing my friend haha the first time I drifted was in front of a cop on my way to work on accident, every time after was on purpose

for being as high as it is it surprisingly isn't top heavy and handles very well especially if lowered. Let me know what things you find that work for your car since we have the same engine, I'd love to know!

There are videos that teach how to do it on YouTube, it's a lot more difficult with fwd if you don't have a slick surface however it is possible.

Solar love bug

OK I am game. Only thing I added, is the racing strips, Rain vents and Splash guards. It is the exclaim, and has the Whole Sabang Package. The top is black sunroof , Front to back. Racing stripe is vinyl.

Doug061, is that just a vinyl wrap on the top ? After you edit your post to only be 3 pics, list what you have done; It will help you with votes.
