In other words, copying MP3s from the phone directly to the USB stick connected to the Soul's USB port via bluetooth file transfer protocol?
I can begin the transfer in my phone but the Soul doesn't negotiate the transfer.

Hmm, I guess I don't envision a use case scenario where doing so would be beneficial? With an Android phone and a simple adapter, you could copy directly from the phone to the storage device at a much faster transfer rate.

The bluetooth firmware in the Soul does not include file transfer. I thought of doing that too when I got my Soul.

The only option was to put the music on a usb stick, plug into Soul & the use the COPY function to transfer to in car drive.

Thanks for all answers. I suppose it is a a fringe case, I've settled on just bringing in my USB stick and adding mp3s from a PC. I may even go back to the future with a 1/8th audio cable to exploit my phones super quad DAC.
