Blown fuse maybe?
The fuse inside car is good as far as I can tell but I know there is a brake relay one but do not know exactly where it is
Btw thank you for the reply out if 51 people you at least tried
Confirm
Old Part # 938103K000
New Part #938104DR0AQQK

Was voltage checked to switch?

Was continuity checked on old switch?

Was continuity checked on new switch? A bad new switch is possible.
Thank you I will check that off tomorrow and see if it is the issue
On Generation 2, the Body Control Module has an input from the brake lights to position A4, but I do not know if that is anything other than input:

Probably the switch behind the brake pedal

Don't know if you still have the problem, but I own a 2010 from new. Some years back, I don't know the year without researching it, there was a recall on the tail lights. Mine happened to be one that the brake lights and blinkers quit working and I didn't know it. I did take it in for the recall and no problems since. Suggest call the dealer. I thought that no matter when the recall was, the dealership would fix it. If the 2013 didn't fall into that recall then they could at least tell you the fix as I'm betting it is the same.

So here is the recall which did not include the 2013. The recall was in 2013 so it is still probable that it's the same issue. The stop lamp switch.
Recall Number
13V114000
Recall Date
04/01/2013
Component
EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH
Summary
Kia Motors Corporation (Kia) is recalling certain model year 2007-2010 Rondo, model year 2007-2011 Sedona, Sorento and Sportage, model year 2010-2011 Soul, model year 2008-2011 Optima, model year 2010 Forte, model year 2007-2009 Amanti, and model year 2009 Borrego vehicles. Originally, in April 2013, Kia recalled 623,658 model year 2007-2010 Rondo and Sportage, model year 2007-2011 Sorento, model year 2007 Sedona, model year 2010-2011 Soul, and model year 2011 Optima vehicles. In September 2013, Kia informed the agency that it was adding an additional 356,719 vehicles to this campaign. The total number of vehicles being recalled is now 980,377. In the affected vehicles, the stop lamp switch may malfunction. A malfunctioning stop lamp switch may cause the brake lights to not illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed or may cause an inability to deactivate the cruise control by depressing the brake pedal. Additionally, a malfunctioning stop lamp switch may also result in intermittent operation of the push-button start feature, affect the operation of the brake-transmission shift interlock feature preventing the shifter from being moved out of the PARK position and cause the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) malfunction light to illuminate.
Consequence
Failure to illuminate the stop lamps during braking or inability to disengage the cruise control could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, when the ignition is in the 'ON' position, the transmission shifter may be able to be moved out of PARK without first applying the brake. This may lead to unintentional movement of the car which may increase the risk of a crash.
What Owners Should Do
Kia will send an interim notification to owners in May 2013. When parts are available, owners will receive a second notification and dealers will replace the stop lamp switch, free of charge. Owners may contact Kia at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's recall campaign number is SC098.

Probably the switch behind the brake pedal
Likely, but it was reported replaced in post one

"Changed light bulbs and light switch under pedal and still no brake lights."
Unfortunately on this forum, many problems are posted, several suggestions replied, then the outcome is not advised.

Not seen the likes of so many dangling threads on other forums (Mazda Miata, Jeep Wrangler & 5 M/C forums over the past 18 years), but maybe Tammy is still working on it.
Thank you!! I have already changed that switch also cruise and gear shift work at this time. It's so crazy I can't figure this out!!
Is there voltage to line side of switch?
Is there voltage on load side of switch when activated?
Does anyone know what happened? I’m having the exact same problem
Anyone figure out what to do? Ive had almost the exact same promblem. Have replaced the fuses, brakelight switch, and am about to replace both bulbs eventhough i replaced one not even 6 months ago. No brake lights, only top light comes on. Everything else works fine light wise...
If the top light comes on it is not your switch as it would not come on if the switch was bad. Your issue is in the tail lamp bulbs or the harnesses.
was this ever resolved? I am having a similar issue with the high mount brakelight and it's a broken wire

I am having a brake light issue a little different than what is discussed here. Our daughter's 2015 Kia Soul, the brake lights stay on when the headlights are turned on. But, the brake lights work perfectly during the day when the headlights are not on. But, as soon as you turn the headlights on, all the break lights along the top and sides of the back of the car stay on until the headlights are turned off or the car is turned off. Any help would be so appreciated! Thank you!

My husband just figured it out. He had replaced one of the brake light bulbs with the wrong type of bulb, not the dual light (correct bulb #2357). Once he took the wrong bulb out, the top brake light and other side worked perfectly again. Tomorrow we are going to buy another #2357 bulb and all three brake lights should work again. Hope this helps someone else.
