^^^^ I think I'll be safe, as it is just sitting unused in the upper compartment. Did they say if it was while plugged in, or just running on battery power.
It must do something, as it seems to be a large recall. They don't do those without cause.

There is the website for the recall. Just put in the serial number from the bottom. It is only some of the NUVI 250 260 270 and 7XX.
Mine is the 760 but after I enter the serial number it is NOT one that is recalled.

I bought my Garmin 260 a refurbished unit in the summer of 2009, and after checking, it is not being recalled. The refurbed unit looked like new to me, so no regrets on that purchase.
No recall, one less aggravation to deal with.
