Back to my concerns of 5-20 vs. 5-30. What oil were you using?
I've owned almost forty cars in my almost sixty miles of driving. Only two engine failures-- a used Festiva (my first Kia) bought cheap with what looked like 30,000 miles on the first oil change. Engine died at 105K and replaced cheaply out of the junk yard and a Plymouth Arrow which overheated. There was also an old Corvair that my wife insisted I buy in the early seventies which had everything wrong with it--just remembered that one.
