I've seen in previous years methods to disable the gear shift indicator, but I can't find anything in the 2014 owner's manual. Does anybody know if this can be done, and if so, how? Thanks.

welcome to the forum

here's my reply that I posted in the other forum where you posted the same question

its quite possible that this maybe the reason you can't do it:

"When the system is not working properly, the indicator is not displayed"

Are you referring to the Up-Arrow that pops up to shift? I haven't tried, but I believe that all you need to do is turn OFF the ECO. Near as I can tell on my 2013 Base, that Shift Indicator is ALL that ECO does on the MT Base.

Anybody know anything different??

Yeah, it's the up (down) arrow with the target gear number. Alas, my 2014 Base MT doesn't have the ECO option.

On my 2013, the button (on the dash to RH of steering wheel)that allows me to toggle between ODO, Trip A, Trip B, AVE MPG and ECO. On THAT screen, it says/displays: "ECO ON". I THINK that to change it, I just hold the button IN until it changes to "ECO OFF".

It SHOULD be the same on the 2014, but . . .

Just checked. ECO doesn't appear in the trip display. It shows average speed and elapsed time instead. Thanks for the help, though.
