Hi all,
Newbie here, I鈥檓 attempting to change the crankshaft sensor, all the videos available and info online says it鈥檚 a 5 minute job, which sounds good 馃憣 However I鈥檝e had a really good search and can鈥檛 find it ! All the cars I鈥檝e seen changed are manuals whilst mine is a R/H drive 1.6 crdi auto, any help would be much appreciated.

It is easier to get to it from the bottom. When looking from the front of the car it is to the right of the oil filter housing under the starter and held in with one 10mm bolt. The wire goes up and is secured to a metal bracket, there is a little push pin in the back of the connector that keeps it attached to the bracket so use a little pick and it will slide off the bracket. When removing the old sensor make sure the old o ring comes out with it.

Was the giveaway the crdi designation?

CRDI = common rail direct injection.

Pasted from CRDI:

A CRDI abbreviation stands for Common Rail Direct Injection and is used by Hyundai Motor Group for their proprietary diesel engines with Common Rail direct fuel injection. CRDI engines are turbocharged power units installed on Hyundai and Kia vehicles.

The advantage of CRDI engines is their efficiency, and reduced content of harmful substances in the exhaust.

I missed that but the picture was obviously not a 1.6 GDI
