I once had sudden brake line failure (in an F-150) so I'm a proponent of having brake fluid flushed periodically. Fortunately the line burst while I was backing out of a home garage and not while I was driving out on the roadways. No one had ever told me about brake fluid going bad, the dealer never said anything the few times I took my truck in, nor anyone else. I bought the truck new and the line burst at about 9 years.
If the dealer you took it too - or another dealer since this one has some sketchy upsell tactics - truly intend to do a full flush, not just empty and refill the reservoir, then that price seems reasonable to me.
On my Kia Soul I did my own brake fluid flush a few years ago - I had never done this sort of maintenance task before.
I wanted to be able to do it by myself (ie without a helper pumping the brake pedal etc) and so chose to go with a pressure bleeder which allowed for one-person operation.
The pressure bleeder along with various additional tools (eg bleeder wrenches) I didn't already have, accessories to modify the pressure bleeder, and brake fluid, probably was close to $100. Plus there is the post-time involved to appropriately dispose of the used brake fluid as not all oil recyclers around me (I change my own oil) accept used brake fluid.
Regarding the induction cleaning, seems like a decent price if they are doing the process that user bwdz75 has described in various posts.
I doubt I'll go the at-home CRC route. Having watched some videos the results seem a little iffy to me. I would want some way to easily view the tops of the valves before and after to personally see any difference.
On the other hand I'm not real keen on going to my local dealer because the service dept person didn't know what -
induction cleaning??? - I was asking about, had to ask around, and wanted to call me back. The person I spoke with later gave me a price but it still wasn't clear to me that he and I were talking the same thing nor what the induction cleaning process entailed. Didn't exactly give me a warm and fuzzy feeling.
