I bought the fake car alarm below for our 2019 Kia Soul that our son uses in college. Two KIAs were stolen from his apartment parking lot and we took the car back and gave him an older Chevy Sonic. He would like his KIA back when it is updated with KIA's security fix but that is not happening soon. Please take a look at the product below and let me know if you have any ideas about where this fake alarm is best placed on our KIA. If you have a better fake alarm please advise. We also bought a Rotary Steering Wheel Lock.

Maybe in an empty spot where the switch’s to the left of the steering wheel are if there’s space available. I only have the dimmer switch and esc off switch, but some trims will have other switches and there might not be room. Another spot maybe is on the center console around the gear shifter or on top of the steering column cover. Or maybe even in the plastic cover on the top center of the dash where a speaker would be. Try to find a spot that’s easy to access to make it easy to install.

Just tried your suggestion a moment ago and did not find a place to stick the battery pack on either the left or right side of the steering wheel but that may just be my KIA. Working on plan B this evening when I can see how the blinking light works at night in the car. My mechanic is not big on fake security systems and suggested I simply place the main box with the on/off switch in the forward center counsel box and attach the blinking light there also....will put a photo up if it works and looks like a real security light. May have bought the wrong fake car alarm and did not think about where I was going to put it when I bought it...just read the positive reviews. Thanks again for your suggestion.

Looks to me like you chosen a fake alarm that is meant to be mounted inside the dash with the bulb poking out thru a hole you are supposed to drill thru the dash (just large enough for the bulb). The doiuble-sided tape sticks to the underside thus holding it in place.

If drilling a hole in the dash is something your willing to do then I say go into the dash via the side panel and find a suitable spot within reach.

Kia Soul: Crash Pad Side Cover Component Location

And tape/ziptie the battery case to something appropriate so it doesn't rattle around, or come loose when your son hits a pothole and goes too fast over a speed bump.

Just wasted 20 minutes by not signing in prior to responding to the new posts as my response was erased when I signed in and I wasted more time when I could not post my 4-second video showing the fake alarm working from the driver's side window or the photo I took of the fake alarm where I placed it. Sorry, my photo skills are limited to using Google photos with my email. It seems to look OK from the driver's side window at night but we are keeping the KIA SOUL at home for the rest of the school year until it gets the updated security patch from KIA as it seems clear college towns have KIAs stolen far more than rural areas and I do not feel comfortable with our fake blinking alarm as a solution to the KIA theft problems. Thank you again for the thoughtful and excellent responses.

OK..my sign-in is SLOWLEARNER and it fits. Below is the photo I was trying to include and it seems I can not add a 4-second video. The red light flashes nicely at night and looks like there might be a real security system installed but I would not be the ranch on this setup and will wait for the key system upgrade and the windows stickers that KIA will provide before we give the KIA back to our son next Fall term.

I think it should be installed where it should be from the factory, or look like it is from the factory, to make it look like an alarm.

Agree 100% but was limited by the device I bought. Seems to work very well at night and the red flashing light is evident when you look in the window. Also bought a steering wheel lock just to be safe and our KIA dealer is updating our Soul this Monday, thus our son may get his car back sooner than we thought. Thanks for your post.
