What engine oil do you use in your Soul?? Also is it a manual? When do you get the fluids changed?
I use Mobil 1 synthetic 5w30 around every 5000 miles, I use mostly Bosch or K&N oil filters, kia filters lately because I bought a box of 10 for my wife's optima, it had the possibility of metal shaving, even though it passed Kia's checkup, figured I'd use kia filters in case something did happen with the Optima's engine.

It's an automatic, I usually do a drain and refill every summer.

The average car is driven 13,476 miles. So in 10 years that would be about 134,760 on the odometer.

That may be why we don't see too many Souls yet with over 200,000 miles. They haven't been around long enough.

Or......it could be something else too :)

Food for thought.

I'm better than average....I'm putting about 22k annual on mine. And it would be higher if I didn't have another vehicle (actually, 2) that sometimes goes to work instead of the Kia.

Just wondering if anyone has gotten to 200,000 miles or more on the original engine. I have not seen any with that many miles for sale or used?
I had 200k & some change in the 2014 + I traded in... Good little car - it's why I got a 2020 Soul.

Even got $2000 in trade-in although I was rear ended hard about 4 years agao

I have 197,926 as of this morning. Running fine. I do change the oil every 7500 with high mileage oil.
Only thing I don't like is the sucky radio and I am too cheap to pay for Sirius. Just use my iphone music.

2011 2.0 Auto. Just turned 190k miles. Only basic maintenance except for 1 fuel pump, 1 alternator, and 1 O2 sensor. I typically just use Carquest, Autozone branded, or Supertech Synthetic oils and either Supertech, STP, or Purolator filters. Also I do a drain and fill on the Tran every other oil change. Timing belt has been changed twice but haven't done the water pump. Just swapped out the belt. Will be doing the belt and pump at 200k.

117k on my 2012 Soul. I bought it at 98k over 3 years ago, (end of Dec 2017), so I don't drive it much aside to/from work/grocery/family. Haven't had any major issues, except mechanic noted some rust on underside, affecting some of the front joints and got them replaced (probably didn't need to at that moment, but eh).

I see a lot of Souls are being unloaded around the 30-50k mark for whatever reason. Maybe people don't like the cargo space or how it drives?

If they're on the dealership lot then they're most likely fleet or rental vehicles with a few leases sprinkled in. If they were rentals they won't have any maintenance records in the Carfax since rental companies self-maintain their fleet. I would avoid rentals like the plague since you'll never truly know how well the car was maintained, if at all. If the maintenance records are pretty thorough or complete there's a better chance the car was a lease vehicle and would be maintained at Kia-specified intervals. These assessments were drawn from my research & experiences when I was looking through dealership inventory when shopping for my used Soul. YMMV 👍
