2022 Soul turbo last of the turbo models. I'm surprised they dropped the turbo, guess I have the one of the last ones built!

I was surprised to learn that Kia has stopped making the Turbo soul. I bought mine in March and I noticed they are none out there to be had. The prices have gone way up on used ones. Guess its a end of a 5 year run on the quick turbo soul i'm glad I got one when I did. I had a 2019 turbo also and I kind of wished I kept that one. I don't like all the lane asst stuff and miss the power passenger seat, and the panoramic sun roof. I love the seats, the new look of the gen 3 but I don't use most of the gee wiz stuff on my new one. A sad day for the turbo Soul

You've now owned 2 turbo Souls, consider yourself very rare. Not sure what the numbers are but the turbo accounts for a very, very tiny percentage of Soul sales so it probably made no sense for them to continue it. The new 1.6 in the K5, Sportages etc.. is a far more expensive and sophisticated engine so they probably thought it would bump up the Soul's price to a level that would make the turbo sales even worse and the old 1.6 in your car just probably doesn't cut it for new emissions and it would be the only Kia car to continue with the old Gamma engine (although the Niro uses a version of it now that I think about it)

Partially only because it was available in only the very top trim which was expensive, unlike the Seltos where you could get it in lower trims, and Seltos also offered AWD. I think they just wanted to separate the Soul and Seltos a bit, as they are on the same platform and not that different in size. Especially w/ the '24 update we're going to see the Seltos seperate even more I'm betting with a big price bump as they bring it up market.

I'm glad I was able to pick one up. It's a fun and convenient vehicle.

I’m sure they discontinued the turbo’s in the 23 Souls because they are problematic! I’m wish you the very best, but at 4,087 and taking mine back to the shop for “multiple conditions met for engine failure”, followed by the check engine light, is more than I can take. This is the second time this car will be in the shop for the same reason.

Just keep an eye on the 2022 Turbo transmission. It’s a 7-speed dual clutch dry version. Some don’t last 20,000 miles. Kia have stopped using It and switched to the eight speed dual clutch wet transmission which is reliable.
