2021 Soul LX - headrest too far forward for small driver

The Soul headrest cannot be adjusted back and force .. and it is to far forward for a small driver - so the shoulders are not touching the seat any more.
Are there aftermarket headrests or does anyone have an idea on how to solve this problem .... it actually creates a lot of discomfort and is a safety hazard in an accident.

Don't think turning the headrest around is safe ...
Any ideas?

You're certain?

I don't have a Generation 3 so perhaps Kia changed the headrests and how they operate from the Generation 2 Souls.

On my 2014 the headrests adjust forward & back but unfortunately the range of travel rearward is less than I would prefer.

Turn the headrest around and experiment. The thing will probably fit perfectly in the seatback, unless there is a series of grooves in only one side of the two headrest support rods that are used for the height adjustment.

The forward angle of the headrest in the OEM position may inconvenience you as it is, but, once it is turned around, because you are shorter, the slight rearward angle resulting from flipping it around might fit your posture correctly as the back of your head will probably be resting against the bottom half of the part.

No headrest is a big safety risk and an immediate broken neck in a hard impact. If the headrest angle once reversed is only a couple of degrees different, the headrest will still work as advertised IMHO. If it is too far forward now it may be upright instead once reversed and still quite functional.

I am not aware of the internal construction and reinforcement of the part however, so, this advice, being free, is worth the same amount.

Beautiful green machine. What year is it?
Looks like a 55 Olds. I agree, it's gorgeous 😍
Yes. . it was exactly like this on. . 1955 Olds 98.

It had power everything and it all worked. Two tone leather seats to match the exterior.
I loved the look of hard tops.

Loved cruising in that car.

I am 5'5" and have a 2017+. The headrests constantly hit me in the back of the head which irritated me a lot. The headrest also cannot be adjusted back and forth so I just turned the headrests around. They work perfect - the headrest is about 1" in front of the seatback. I want my seatback straight not leaning back so this configuration works great for me.

I had a 1969 Corvair and love d the thing. Picked it up in 1970 upon returning from Vietnam. I enjoyed driving and kept it until the the manual transmission died, and being a poor GI couldn’t afford the repair. I still miss.it.

My Corvair also had a 4-speed transmission. It was quick, especially after the transmission was replaced in the attached garage in the winter of Michigan. It came to me with an added Sun tachometer. That gear changing from 2nd to 3rd had to be moved to the right or it would get back into 1st, and >5000 rpm would lose that fan belt. The wrench and a new belt were required for the friend drivers. I used to coach them and stop at a gas station or supply store. That car had 4 carburetors on it. After my crash/accident, I got a ticket for under the spare tire Under age alcohol possession, and violation of basic speed law. Driving faster than the weather problems. Driving too fast for conditions, regardless of the posted speed limit.
