Read more about the 2017 Kia Sportage Revealed Ahead of Frankfurt Debut at AutoGuide.com.The next-generation 2017 Kia Sportage is coming to Frankfurt with a whole new look.
Unlike other automakers that like to slowly tease what their new car will look like, Kia dropped these three images on us, showing off just how different its upcoming compact crossover will look.
Designed by Kia’s European design studio in Frankfurt, Germany, with input from the brand’s Korean and U.S. design centers, the new crossover sports a design that’s reminiscent of the old Provo concept. You can really see that at the rear end of the vehicle, with the angular tail lights, chrome strip and lower reverse lights.
Other elements of the vehicle are inspired by fighter jets, helping to give the crossover a powerful and agile appearance. The most noteworthy design cues include the new headlights that are no longer integrated with the vehicle’s grille, which has also been updated to be wider and lower.
From the side, the Sportage retains its sleek, raked profile. The crossover will debut at the Frankfurt motor show, where we’ll learn more about the powertrain, features and interior design of the car. Expect a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood, hooked up to a dual-clutch transmission borrowed from the Hyundai Tucson.
