Wheel wheel wheel what do we have here?
So ebay shipped the harness and control fast enough to make Jeff Bezos spin and Battery to Battery was the usual 45-60 minutes. I was excited and neglected to pull on the orange tabs on the airbag clips and subsequently broke one of the small blue tabs that hold it down. Big issue? probably not but c'est la vie.
In my defense it was like Tatooine in my garage and my patience is not the best.
Fast forward all plugged in. Harness was a little stiff to manipulate but all went back well. Center on the wheel was marked and has a notch on it so its pretty easy to line up already. Horn seems a bit tougher to press but I actually like that. Im less tempted to honk when someone cuts me off. Only hitch was i left the sticker/barcode from the inside of the wheel hanging out on the shroud and didnt notice till it was all back together so I just ripped it off, and I didnt have a big enough ratchet for the nylock so had to improvise with vice grips, a nut driver and a spark plug socket. On plus side my radio didnt reset. Everything was just as I left it which was a nice touch.
Side note, with car off if you turn the wheel back and forth, do you all feel a slight bump when the (I am assuming) clock spring hits the wheel and starts turning with it? No resistance, just like theres a little play in the wheel that it turns a bit before whatever is behind it catches up.
Altogether, easy peasy, didnt even finish my G&T, squeazy. For anyone else attempting, pull up the orange tabs and make note of which wires go where. Someone on page 2 made note of it and it saved me from bad words and 15 minutes of redoing the harness.
