OK Today I too added cruise to my 2016 Base Manual....and all the advice was splendid and made the job less intimidating and actually pretty simple. I guess the few points that I found were that two hands are better than one. My brother helped me holding lights and pulling connectors apart while I pried the keeper away from the connector tabs. Also, it was not obvious at first that marking the a dot on the threads and the then the steering wheel was the way to index their positions. In taking the air bag off, we used a piece of metal stock that would just fit the holes and had a flat end...as my Phillips screw driver did not stay in contact with the spring loaded keepers well. Finally, when placing the switch component onto the steering wheel, it seemed reasonable to place the small end with the tab in place first and then slip the two pillars(for screws) into place, but we could not manage that. By placing the pillars on the larger portion in place first, the small end was pressed home without difficulty. Other than that, I believe that all the detailed instructions from page 31 are more than enough to enable anyone (or two) to do this job simply. All tolled, maybe 30 min start to finish....Works perfectly. Oh, and I got my parts from the same source $76 delivered.
Glad it went well for you !

Did you get this message as well and ordered anyway?

I even tried just searching "Cruise control" and it came back with no results.

Just wondering if anything has changed since you did yours. And I did mine in reverse order...got the keyless entry first. Things I did not think about ... silly me...assuming 2016 models came w/ this stuff automatically.

Hey Strm, thats the correct part. I'd ignore the backtalk.

I think it says that because technically since the MT doesn't come with CC, that harness isn't on the proverbial "parts list" for stick shift. Hell my salesman said it's impossible to put CC in a MT Gen 2. Tell that to all the folks here who have put it in. I've had it 3 years now and works flawlessly.

But, that is exactly the correct part for the harness 56190-B2400

Then the CC Controller switch is 96700-B2100ASB

Thats all you need to get er done. Keep us posted on your progress!

Awesome! Can't wait to install it. I wish I checked this site before my long trip last weekend. Not fun driving 6 hrs w/ broken toes and no CC!!

When they said it was a base model...it really was base! My 05 Rav4 came standard w/ CC and keyless entry. So I "assumed" 12 yrs later, it would definitely be standard features in all cars now.

In all fairness, the Base MT Soul does come with Cruise Control, they just "mask" it over with a blank faceplate. All of the electronics & dash lights are there.

It's all about marketing. The Base AT comes with it. Dealers are schooled to deny it exists on MTs.

I'm not sure I've heard of anyone who had factory CC installed by the dealer. I have heard of poor suckers whose dealers mamed & disfigured their new Souls with 3rd party crap.

I cringe every time I think about that!

This is where the real value of car forums shine - how many people out there just do without, or get some funky system from a dealer or 3rd party aftermarket?
Yes! I'm glad I found this forum. It had been so long since I bought a car, that I was surprised how much didn't come w/ the car...even a spare tire! They say it's because of fuel efficiency. But CC also helps with fuel efficiency, so why wouldn't that be standard then?

But based on what I've read, it may be for the best that it was a very base model. I can do the work myself for a fraction of the cost and get only what I want.

I'd bet nothing has changed with the 2017 MT. With each new year there has to be 1 pioneer but I think nothing has changed since Billaz took the risk.

I'd go for it!

Finally got around to doing it! Got my son to help so he could get some Boy Scout credit. :) The ONLY issue was that the wheel nut was so tight that the 21mm tool I had didn't have enough torque. And since hubby was out of town, I didn't know if he had any secret tools. So had to borrow one from the neighbor. But other than that, it went smoothly! It took about 10-15 min from there. The 10mm wrench is what I used to disconnect the battery. Didn't see that in notes, so maybe that will help someone else. I also marked the wires ahead of time, so that I knew which ones went to which side.

Sooo happy now that I have cruise control!! Definitely helps when you have broken toes!

In North America Souls with manual transmission there is no need to change the clock spring. You do however need a new wiring harness that adds the cruise control connector.

Not sure in the Phillipines though. I would think not. You could always try it & if it doesn't work add the clockspring.

Best of luck.

Ok, so I just did my CC install today. I have to say, the only intimidating part about this install, for me, was dealing with the airbag. I was literally sweating bullets as I disconnected it and reconnected it. The parts that the OP listed were perfect and with the addition of a youtube video, the install went flawlessly and was done in less than a half hour. The how-to video can be found here.

I'm getting ready to do add the factory cruise control on my 2017 base model MT. In my research I found a few things not mentioned here:

1) According to the service manual, the steering wheel nut must be replaced once removed. I ordered one for $0.87 from Kia. I'll confirm part number when received.
(per www.kiacarparts.net, the part number for a "Steering wheel nut W/O ELECTRIC" is 561952F000)
2) Per the service manual, steering wheel nut tightening torque is 39.2-49.0 N.m (4.0 - 5.0 kgf.m, 28.9-36.2 lb-ft)

That sounds odd. You may not need it, but for 87 cents no big deal. Let us know how it goes and why the nut has the be replaced. Any pics would be good.

Good luck beuford!
