2011 roof rack

I need a roof rack, and quite frankly, I need it ASAP. I've seen plenty of posts here about removable ones, such as by Thule, but the guy at Pepboys told me that my 2011 Soul cannot handle a removable rack because of a lack of... a rain guard, I think it was.

My inquiries to custom shops about installing one permanently tend to get ignored. The dealership that I got the car from hasn't been terribly helpful either.

I really don't want to order a rack only to find that it is, indeed, not going to work on my car, and the mixed bag of information that I'm getting online is really frustrating. No one that I can find has gotten something like the Thule roof rack on a 2011 model, so I'm not sure if there's some sort of difference between earlier ones and mine that explains the guy who actually SAW my vehicle saying it wouldn't work.

Help, please??

Well the guys a pep boys don't know what they are talking about. It's true that SOME roof racks require a rain gutter, but a lot don't. Look on the Yakima website, and here's my permanent install:

Looks to me, if functionality is the prime requisite, that you could not beat rybaks home-made project - now, if you're simply interested in appearance, pick the prettiest one -

I HIGHLY recommend SSD. I have one on my car. Install isn't too hard and it's solid as a rock.

Thule Roof Rack

Have one on my 2011 Soul +. Just go to Thule.com and follow the Fit Guide. Tells you everything you need to know.

yahima came out with new rack system that fits the Soul.
they're called Whispbar. they look kinda funky, I like the way kfergiez did his
