  1. Soul General Discussion (Gen 1)
Well, I finally got around to changing my spark plugs on my Soul. Yeah, I was 30k miles past the schedule but being that the car is out of warranty and was running fine, frankly I didn't care enough to drop everything and do it. But since I've had the plugs sitting on the work bench for 6 months...

Changing my spark plugs today. Dealer recommended changing them at 164k km's. I currently have 92k on the car but I wanted to change them due to old habits. I'm glad I did. I could have gone another 10k-20k on the originals, but meh, I was bored.

Hello, I recently discovered that spark plugs on a turbo do not necessarily last as long as on a regular injector. I also discovered that this has a lot to with how you drive it as well. Question: how many miles have the fellow turbo owners here driven their cars before replacing them? I ask...

If anyone interested rock auto has e3 plugs on closeout for 2.56 each. I am using them in my soul and they work great.
  5. Soul Accessories (Gen 1)
Anyone running these plugs and opinions please. Thinking about switching to these just for the heck of it.
  6. Soul General Discussion (Gen 1)
I'll be approaching 30k miles soon, and I've read on various forums to replace the cheap-o copper spark plugs that are used in the base 1.6L Soul. Not sure if that's true or not, I searched the manual online and couldn't find anything regarding spark plugs, only to replace them more frequently...

What kind of spark plugs are most of the Soul owners buying? Are you getting the Iridium Spark Plug? Can the Soul 2.0 run on the coppers or must they use the Iridium Plug or equivalent? I searched here and cannot get a definite answer either way.
  8. Soul Problems (Gen 1)
How can I get continuous power to my front power plugs for when my key is out of the ignition? Can I change the fuse or does it involve extensive wiring? Just want to be able to charge my cell phone when my car is off.
  9. Soul Problems (Gen 1)
2011+ check engine light is on, I'm assuming spark plugs as its due. If I replace plugs and wires, will the light go off if that was indeed the problem?
  10. How To / DIY (Gen 1)
ok - i figured the forum would be the best place to ask this... bc the Rocket Scientists at a handful of dealers seem dumbfounded, maybe just DUMB. I have a 2012 soul base my wife bought... it has 62K on the odo and I want to do a lil tuneup... the dealer wants close to 4billion dollars to do a...

Just ordered at Napa Champion 445s $2.33 each. Read there where only couple plugs that fit this motor but were old posts. Have the parts manufacters caught up. Any problem with my plug selection?:think

I'm just coming up on 9000 miles and my third oil change and all's well with my little Gertrude. However, I'm always looking for that "Razors' Edge" when it comes to performance. I've been reading a lot of testimonials from people who have put the E3 spark plug in their cars, motor cycles...

2010 exclaim 31k miles, car started running really bad, check engine light on. obd said misfire on cyl. 4. took it to the stealership and they found moisture inside area where the spark plug lives. they dried it out and cleared the code. it ran good for about a week. it started running bad...
  14. Soul Problems (Gen 1)
OK, a stupid question. My father (who is 85 years old, sharper than I am, and worked on automotive and aviation engines long before most of us in the forum were born) and I were looking at my Soul's 1.6L four and could not (for the life of us) determine where the ignition wires were located...

E3 plugs Installed & burn mark on old plugs Hi, I just installed E3 Plugs yesterday. I am a believer in the improvement they claim. I will post any MPG improvement after my first tank of gas with them. The removed Plug is below and has a odd burn around the white ceramic area? This is after...

I installed 10.2 MM core spark plug wires and NGK G-Power spark plugs designed for the 2005 Tiburon L4 2.0L today and my Soul runs so much better, the gear box seems to shift so much smoother and not all jotty. I also have a CAI and flowmaster street exhaust. Thought I'd share pics of the...

Anyone change out their spark plugs? So these new E3, that offer more power, lower emissions, better fuel economy. Here's a link.
  18. How To / DIY (Gen 1)
This is a small writeup on changing plugs on a 2010 kia soul 1.6 gas. The whole process is rather straightforward and with proper tools takes about 15-30 mins. First is to gather tools and the sparkplugs. You will need a 10 mm socket, a deep well 5/8 spark plug socket, a 6 in extension and of...

well my new plugs just arrived at home (is it ok to get excited over spark pugs?), and am just waiting for the day to be over so i can go home and change em out. A writeup will be soon to follow (this is for the 1.6 petrol guys you 2.0 snobs have platinums from the factory). :D I will post pics...

well i have been doing what i always do with my vehicles. yes tinkering. well over the past few weeks i have been experimenting with different gaps on the plugs and so far .035 seems to work best, but that is not my concern. I am concerned that my soul has only 8k on it and the plugs are already...
