    Well...Someone Had to Ask!

Seems like Hyundai/Kia has updated their oil filter part# once again to 26300-35505.
Are there any DEALER members here that would like to elaborate, expand, clarify for us mere mortals the difference between the various renditions of said filter?
With the recent purchase of our 2020 I want be sure I'm using the best Kia has to offer.
    Thanx!

well it is a different engine than previous so why wouldn't it change, also check oil filter part number for the 2019 Forte, it should be the same one.

That filter is what I got from dealer severl months ago for my newly obtained 2014. I noticed online a lot of the previous ones...504. No idea why KIA changed them tho, nor what sort of changes were made. Makes me wonder tho, whether it had something to do with oil flow and all the motors with oil problems!

I'm thinking 503/504/505 all the same but that's why I was looking for a member who works for KIA to weigh in.

It does get very confusing. Having a '15 and a '18 1.6, some sights like ebay and amazon say they are different.

They changed the part number a couple years back, but exact same filter.

It's also used by Subaru. I thought it fit some 53 or so various engines by different manufacturers.

It may say Hyundai on it, but who knows who really manufacturers it.

Several times, when I've brought up the Kia oil filter to my Kia parts man, he has always told me that all four cylinder Kia's use the same Oil Filter.
What more do y'all need to know?

What I need to know is what I don't know.
That being... is the newest incarnate filter simply a part# change or has there been some internal revision to coexist with whatever changes may/may not have gone into the new motor.
F.W.I.W. I don't think the "new motor" is really new at all.
Given that 1 filter fits sooooo many models it is doubtful there have been any changes of real consequence.
While I think I know, the reality is that I do not and ASSuming could be invite to disASSter down the road.

I doubt very much the filter is made in house by Hyundai/KIA/Mobis.
I have seen visually identical filers, made in Korea, for about $3.00 at rock auto b.t.w.
