If you want to add anything, you have to do it from scratch...
I understand that. But from a manufacturing standpoint, it makes sense to me that to remove DRL from a US model, it's much easier/cheaper to remove a wire from the body harness than to redesign and manufacture a completely separate BCM.

Which would leave an open pin on the BCM that could very well be active and functioning, all that is needed would be to add the wiring.

I'll look at the BCM this weekend and check. Where is it located?

@ indy: I totally agree, it would have been simpler to add my fog lamps... BCM is behind the glove box (some screws and pull hard...) upper left corner.
@ Keith: there is no DRL fuse, it's powered by the tailgate opener fuse...

mm really.. on the fuse panel I see a location that says drl off but on the US there isn't a fuse... I just figured on the canadian models pulling the fuse would disable it... going to have to figure out something out before you drive down because running hids on a car with DRL's don't work with out strobing issues. Which I see now you have already taken care of by moving them to your fogs.

I just read the thread again and now realize that the OP wants to add DRL's... why not just leave your headlights in the on location... problem solved? does the same thing but better because now your tail lights are now on as well.

I don't have a fuse there, but I think I know what it is... I read some things about European cars when looking for a light stalk with the fog switch ('cause my Soul didn't came with fogs (and I have an UK stalk (You'll see why soon Keith))).
In Europe, DRL are not required everywhere, so the dealers can put a fuse in there to cancel the DRL circuit. I'm not sure this is absolutely right, I might give it a try at work tomorrow...

Nothing happens... I don't think it's wired in N. America.

@sightland: I have the resistor module removed from my car. I put a couple of relays instead for mods... If you want it it's yours, otherwise I'll put it on eBay. It comes with the bracket, to mount on the stock shock tower location.

I'll take it if he doesn't want it.

looks like 'indy1979' wants the module. 'indy1979', keep us posted on outcome and DIY steps for all of us.

I recently did search for BCM and DRL module for Rio but nothing came up so I am assuming these modules are dealer items.
