Thread: 10-11 tailamps on 12-13 model

One of the biggest things that I liked about the introduction of the Soul was the tailamps. I was driving to work one day and noticed a funky looking 5 door vehicular object. It caught my eye causing me to swerve even lol. I broke my neck to get behind it and realized it was a, wtf Kia!? I was hooked!!! I flirted around with the idea of trading in and by the time I did, they changed the body after only two years. I really love my Soul. I got the black on like the first soul that caught my eye. Unfortunately the tailamps are not as cool as the first gen Souls in my opinion unless you have the fancy l.e.d. ones on the ! model. I can obviously fit 2011 model tailamps into the bezels but thats not the only issue. I am wondering if any other Soul owners can tell me if the wiring connector from the car itself (2012) will plug into the 2011 tailamp and work normally. Can anyone help me? I cant seem to find a 10-11 owner that will let me take their Soul apart to check lol. I asked my dealer if I could do this and he laughed at me and said no we cant let you do it but we can check, of coarse I have to pay labor and that aint gonna happen. It would be money wasted if it doesnt work lol. Also if this is a possible interchange, are there any 10-11 Soul owners that might want to trade tailamps?

Depends on what model you have. Lot's of people on here (myself included) want the LED tails that come on the Exclaim ! model.

Well... maybe. But I'm almost sure of it. that the taillights fit and work perfectly.



Unless I saw a '11 with the bumpers and headlights of a '12. :/

This has been discussed before. The tail lights and rear bumper from a 12-13 will fit a 09-11. As for the front, the headlights will fit ONLY if the hood, bumper, and fenders are changed as well. A quick search of the board will answer most of these questions.

I feel the same way. When I had my 2011 soul + I loved the look of the taillights and then I got the 2013 soul + I do like the Exclaim with the LED but not the ones that I have . I have been also looking to go back to the ones I had on the 2011 soul

dang, if you were closer, I would meet and trade in a heart beat!!!! I want the new style taillights so bad. I would love to do a straight up trade but there is no way that I can send mine and go without taillight for multiple days. If there is anyway you are able to, send them to me and I'll swap asap and send mine!

If I had a spare car id just park the Soul and trade but ya know lol

Good news!!! I was browsing www.sharkracing.com and found that they are selling the l.e.d. tailamps in a set like the ones on the Exclaim model for $450.00 which is almost what one tailamp would cost anywhere else. I originally wanted some 09-11 tailamps but since these ! type tailights are so readily available now, I think Ill just get them. Unless I run across some for cheap. I also found out that indeed all the model years of the Souls thus far will interchange which means that if you have a 09-11 Soul, you too can use these ! tailights they are selling.

hmmmm thats not too bad for a set of led tails. I wonder what the shipping on them is.
