How to play cell phone music via Bluetooth

Has anybody figured out how to play any music or internet radio using Bluetooth method? I have 2010 Soul + w/ upgraded stereo / Droid X phone, and it pairs / syncs contacts fine, but the only way i can get cell phone's internet music(RadioTime) on car speakers is by using an aux in cable... which also means that i can't get my cell phone's navigation to play over the car speakers. Has anybody got their cell phone navigation to play over the car speakers? Via bluetooth or cable ? Thanks

p.s.... I love my Droid X, and for whatever reason, that stupid 'Transfer Complete' is finally gone...but phone calls and contacts still work fine.

I can play music via bluetooth from my iphone4. I just have to control it from the phone and not the stereo. I just set the input to phone (by pressing the cd/aux input until phone is selected) and control playback via the phone. The phone still functions fully as normal when doing this.

You got me all excited for a minute...but no dice. I went to my car and tried to put the input on 'phone' using cd/aux, but that option wasn't there... but when my phone first connects to Soul, 'PHONE' does show up on the radio as if it were one of the available inputs...only for about 5 seconds, then it's back to only CD / Aux.... on my phone under the bluetooth settings, i see it says it's connected to 'phone audio', giving me no other options to change 'phone audio' to anything else. I'm starting to think it's a Droid problem.... my wife has a iphone, so i'm going to try that one and see what happens...i'll keep you posted.... thanks

Not unless you swap out the radio with an aftermarket one. Only way you can run music is with Iphone or Ipod using the cable hookup.

I have a GarminFone, android OS, and it plays tbrough bluetooh with no issue. As above, you have to control via the phone, but playback is fine. When mine connects, the phone says "bluetooth headset connected" and the bluetooth symbol appears on the radio. One thing that i have noticed is that it seems to connct better if i enable bluetooth on the phone before i start the soul.

    Hope that helps.

The 2010's can't play music over bluetooth. The 2011's have that capability. So sorry, if you have a 2010 model, you can't play music over bluetooth.

On my HTC incredible, I pair with bluetooth, then I connect my phone with the aux cable to play pandora and if I need nav, I'm happy that the nav lady doesn't come through the speakers, so I'm doing great.

ok... so after researching this for hours, i think this is the bottom line:

Kia's radio WILL play music via bluetooth, as long as the radio firmware is version 1.03 ..... earlier souls had version 1.00, then after the sat radio firmware update, they went to 1.01 .....

2011 Souls have version 1.03 .... so hopefully a 1.03 firmware update is available, and the dealer is willing to give it to us... i'd even pay for it ! It's just frustrating because we know the radio can do it, it just needs the right software....

my plan B is this, which is basically adding aftermarket bluetooth system. I'm not in love with my Soul's bluetooth any way, so this is actually a blessing in disguise. For 40 or 50 bucks, it's worth a try. Check it out:

I called Kia and asked about an update for those with radio firmwares of 1.00 and 1.01. I was given a case number and a return call and told that YES, there is a radio update to 1.03. But the problem I have is that my dealer wants to charge for it. I called Kia again and was told if the dealer wants to charge for it they can. It is an upgrade and not a TSB. If anyone's dealer will please ask if they can get the update put on a USB stick I and MANY other Soul owners would be eternally grateful.

Today i tried my nav program on my iphone via bluetooth. It works great. All the verbal directions come through the car system. The commands even come in and quiet the ipod playback while it's speaking and it even works while on a phone call.
