UVO USB (flash drive) issues :|

So I have a 2012 Kia Soul with UVO, right?

Well I usually use my iPod and the cable but I find it much simpler to just have the USB plugged in so I don't have to worry about it getting stolen or having the cable on hand in general.

So I tried using a Flash drive, and I had only put a couple of songs on to see how well it worked with the system and it worked well. So then I put on all 900+ of my songs and that's where I encountered difficulty.

Only 249 of the songs would show up. I consulted the manual and they're all MP3s, so I have no idea what's wrong with it.

Should I get a new flash drive? Or should I not bother and just keep using my iPod?

I'm currently using an HP 16GB flash-drive with 900+ songs and it works fine. I just leave it plugged in my 2012 Soul+. Maybe there is a problem with your flash-drive.

All right, I'll try one that has less memory (mine is 8 GB but it's enough) and try one of the songs that does not appear otherwise.

    Thanks

Now I have to go find another one , I've been using this one for the longest time...

I Believe there is another post about something similar. I think it was by Tempest but could be wrong here. I posted a long explanation of mp3 encoding in it. You have to be careful with what type of MP3 you use because not all players can handle the different encoding settings.

I checked and a good majority of the ones use a LAME Codec or iTunes, all the iTunes ones work but it varies with the LAME.

I just tried a different flash-drive (borrowed it from my brother ) and it played songs that previously didn't show up.

I guess my flashdrive of 3 years has finally failed me , time to go find a new one.

    Any suggestions?

Thats weird, mine is also 2012 with UVO, I use a 32GB with 3000 songs and they all show up. All are MP3 and even all the artwork shows up. Its gotta be the flash drive, one of my 8GB ones did what yours is doing.
