Hi there! Bear with me as I am new to the Kia world. After only two days of having my new Soul, a rock chipped my windshield. To help avoid this in the future,I want to get a bug shield, and eventually paint protection film. As I'm finding with a lot of things for the '14 Souls, there are not a lot of accessories. Namely in this case, bug shields. My question is, will a bug shield from a 2013 Soul work on my 2014 Soul? I appreciate any input!

I have the Kia bug deflector, and hiding the KIA logo is a small price to pay for the protection that deflector provides.

Get a big KIA logo and put it on the front lic. plate holder. lol

Good Luck!

well realistically, from looking at the eBay unit its looks like you won't have enough clearance to do that. The Canadian one is much deeper and has a beveled edge in the logo opening for strength the eBay unit you will probably crack it or weaken it.

The best way to avoid rock chips in your windshield is to avoid driving. Other than that, a bug shield is not going to prevent rocks from hitting your windshield. It *might* deflect very small stuff but the likelihood is that stuff probably wouldn't have hurt your windshield anyway.

Now, I'm not arguing against a bug deflector - they definitely prevent the front lip of your car from getting all beat to crap - but the principle that they would work doesn't make sense. If it were possible to create a greater slipstream that forced materials over the car, why wouldn't the car manufacturer just shape the hood that way? They're always looking to create a more aerodynamic vehicle. If anything, there's probably a fuel economy penalty - maybe minor - to be had by having a bug shield.

I like the way shields look, generally. I've had them on my vehicle and find them useful, but mostly for keeping the front of square-nose vehicles from being pounded with gravel. I've had plenty of chipped & broken windshields with vehicles that had deflectors. That's what 0$ deductible comprehensive insurance is for :)
