Thread: New Bumper Protector from Korea

Hi Guys!
Just found something new on Kia OEM Superstore website-- a Kia Soul Rear Bumper Protector with Logo (Rubber Step Pad) Supposed to be thicker than the current applique'. Picture is below.

Had one on my PT Cruiser and it really did help. FYI - this one is $6 more than the applique version.
By the way -- I just bought my Soul ! yesterday -- what a pain at the dealership, even with Costco, and I'm the one that had to find a Molten one at another dealership when they claimed there were none.
I love it already and had my first long drive earlier today.

You can get it for about $40 shipped directly from Korea on eBay for the same protector. I believe a few people on here have it installed on their cars already.

Is it something that would be advisable to put OVER the standard applique? I know 3M tape is strong and all...

Are there any installation instructions provided with this?

Just remove the 3M tape and install on bumper. Not sure if they provide much more detailed instructions.

Maybe they have some instruction on how to line it up so it'd be centered on the bumper. For the applique it comes with very detailed instructions on how do it, you basically peel off a small section of the backing, line up and stick it on, smooth out, then move to the next section; repeat until the whole applique is done.

I bought this off Ebay early last year for around $40, it was shipped pretty quickly from Korea. It came rolled up in a little box. I don't remember any detailed instructions, just peeled off the back and slapped it on . Looks really good and hasn't faded in the Florida sun since I put in on.
