Not certain but when my dealer swapped wheels on my Soul, they said that the sensor light went out after a quick trip around the parking lot. They didn't have programming instructions available before the swap either so they assumed they programmed automatically.

ya I looked in the manual but found nothing, and my dealer was no help at all.
but i got my snow tires and tested them for 2-3 hours and the light didn't come on.

It does take a few hours? For what it's worth, where are you storing the original tires/wheels with the TPMS Sensors? If they're in the same car with the garage, the car will recognize the sensors even if they aren't on the car.

    Good luck!

Are Kia Dealers really this incompetent? That scares me.....should I expect worse customer service than the one Toyota offers?

sensor should reset after a couple miles driven. had to fix a nail in my tire a couple weeks ago and the guy who fixed it said that to me. all tire pressure sensors are like this on any car.

he was correct. mine went out after two miles of driving.

I just want to figure out how to disable it. I check my tires weekly so the whole tpms thing is stupid to me. On these cars is there a warning tome or just a light? if there is just a light when i get rims ill just pull the bulb.

I have investigated the TPMS pretty thoroughly. See this post:
    Tire pressure Sensor issues

If my understanding of the system is accurate, if you install a set of wheels without the sensors, the receiver will conduct a self-test at start up and then go dark. It will not set a TREAD light nor will it set a TPMS warning light because it is a simple receiver/calculator. If the sensors in it's identification table never report, the system does nothing.

I do not have another set of wheels to verify though. After you mount your winter wheels, if the system behaves differently from what I posted, please let me know so I can correct that post.

Just did a swap with a set of Eagle Vision 16 inch wheels without any TPMS and it did not set off the light. When first turn the key on the TPMS and (!) lights come on but then turn off. Drove 10 miles and it didn't come on.

    Soul + auto, US model.
