Cargo Cover-- How does it work?

    Hey guys!

Here to bother and nag you all once again.

Anywho, my friend and I (seeing that I am DANGEROUS with powertools) made a cargo cover for my soul, yay! I know, should've taken photos but meh; I just followed what someone did here (make a template, cut it out, cover it)

but I wanna know how the actual covers work. Like hinges, handles and all that jazz.
So pictures, explanations and videos would be very much appreciated.

Also, how to minimize the scratches we made on the inside of my car because of sizing the actual wood for the cover-- that would be nice to know too.

    Thanks!

The Kia cargo cover is just a piece of fabric with 4 bungee cord loops on it. You just hook the two loops at the back around the mounting hooks by the back seats, then hook the other two loops around the mounting hooks near the back door.

It's not a retractable cargo cover.

I think we're talking about the european cargo cover, not the net.

haha. I thought the Euro ones are the cloth type things. o.O

Anywho, to clarify I'm talking about the hard cover that comes with the styro organizer that costs $300.

It's difficult to describe, your best bet would be to visit a dealer and look at one of their cars.

On the U.S. + and higher models, there is a compartmented styrofoam organizer that sits on top of the spare tire -- and is covered by a hard, carpeted folding cover with plastic hinge pins that snap into a couple of grooves just behind the outside corners of the rear seat.

There is also a stretchy black nylon cover that blocks the view of items behind the back seat. It is suspended by four plastic buttons about the same height as the back of the rear seat.

However, there is also a ledge on each side of the cargo area with some curved depressions that appear to secure some sort of rigid cover (a la PT Cruiser rear deck). Got no clue if they sell some sort of thing for this in the U.S. or not.

I have one of the nylon cargo covers and found it to be worthless so it is stored in the tray above the spare tire.

I don't think there is a better cover offered anywhere as of yet that fits in the indentations on the sides.

You don't "size" the actual wood - you make the template using pieces of cardboard that you tape together and trim as needed to make corners, etc - THEN you proceed to make the outline on your plywood or whatever using your cardboard template to produce the "sized" article . There's no need to scratch anything.

so this is off the topic and I can't find where anyone has talked about it. I'm look for some reviews on the clear front protector, not a bug screen, but that is placed on the cars like a film.

    thanks,

I have a cloth cargo cover (OEM KIA) and it's only purpose is to hide the junk in your trunk and NOTHING else.

This is what it looks like:
