    Manumatic Transmission Mode

Greetings! I am way enjoying my 2011 Molten Plus: 3200K miles.

I'm curious how many people regularly use the manumatic feature on their automatic gearboxes?

I thought it was just a novelty at first, but I find myself using it more and more. Kinda fun and useful actually. Hold low gears longer and shift when you want - zip through traffic at will. Then let the system downshift for you automatically when you slow down. And your left foot never gets tired. Cool.

I hope it's robust enough to use all the time. Any thoughts on that?

    I'll find out, I guess.

    Best to everyone!

That is one feature that I wish the 2010's had.

But alas I love my Soul!

I use this all the time to blow away cruising morons on the few stretches of two-lane road between work and home

When I test drove mine, the sales guy wasn't all too sure about it. So now with 800 miles on my new Soul+, I kinda want to explore this feature. But I'm not sure how to use it compared to using a real manual and I do not want to damage my transmission. Is there anything special I have to do or is this a fool-proof feature?

It's fairly goof-proof. Flick left to engage - don't even have to press the button. Then flick up or down to shift. When you coast to a stop, will automatically return to first gear.

I have faith that the computer won't let me exceed redline, although I came close on the highway once by accident.

It will also upshift automatically as well it just lets you get higher up in the RPMS before doing so..

I use mine a good deal and switch back and forth frequently while driving.

    Up-shifts automatically, too? Can't wait to try that . . .

Us too. The dealership tried to talk us into Manumatic since they had the model we wanted in Manumatic, but we made them search around for a true manual.

You're safe using it. At lower speeds, it will go into a lower gear. If you're at a higher speed, it won't change gears but will display what gear you're in (which will be 4).
