    Paint chips covered by warranty

or did I need to buy a certain package with the car to have that covered? Just want to know before I bring it in and ask the dealership to fix it. Just two at the moment one by the door and one on the back bumper except the one on the bumper took some plastic with it.

Washington I called the dealership they said they would see what they could do so I hope that this means yes. It was a show room model but had 48 miles on it so I'm thinking it might have happened before I bought the car and I didn't notice until I detailed it yesterday.

They may help you out with touch up, or if they know the damage was there when they sold the car. Otherwise the paint chips you desribe are not like others are experiencing. Their damage tends to be on the front or the lowers behind the wheels. And those paint chips aren't taking the plastic with them.

You may get lucky and have a dealer that wants to help out the customer when possible, as goodwill gesture. But, if they don't cover it, there reason may be that it isn't a warranty issue. Which from your description, it isn't.

fwtiw - definitely do ask questions as to who will be doing the work and make sure they are using a a qualified body shop (person) and not using a mobile touch up repair place like some kia dealers use b/c a chip in clear coat on my bumper was made worse and they also put swirl marks in head light trim with the buffer...
