    Looking for Cheap Gas?

If so you are getting what you are paying for!! Not likely! Don't be mislead by "Top Tier" fuel, that only means it has the proper amount of detergent according to the EPA!
My dealers service department has had some local fuels tested and has found that some of the "Cheap" stuff has as much as 17% ethanol. No names but if you think cheaper is better you are way wrong!! Not doing your engine any favors either!

Here in FL, by law, auto fuel must contain ethanol, but cannot have more than 10% Ethanol. It costs MORE to add ethanol to gasoline, so it doesn't stand to reason why any Petroleum Company would want to add more than they have to by law.

Maybe not in your particular area, but in many parts of the US, all of the gas stations in an area will receive gasoline from the same Bulk Plant. (Gasoline Distribution Center)

That was true in Peoria, Ill, where I used to live. Any day I could drive by the local Bulk Plant and see the trucks lined up there to be filled from the same tanks. One truck would have "Standard" on it, and the next one would have "Texaco" while the next might say "Mobil".
Additives for each brand were added right there at the Bulk Plant, as the truck was being filled.
Truth is stranger than fiction! Eh?

Much of that fuel was trucked in from the Standard Oil Co. pipeline terminal near Eddyville, IA. and even more came up the Ill. River from refineries in Louisiana, in huge barges. Hence the nic-name of "Barge-Gas".

I don't go all crazy about Top Tier gas, but I do have CC's for several Oil Companies that add detergents to their auto fuel. Generally though, I shop for Price. My car seems to run just as good whether I buy my gas at Chevron or Wal-Mart.
Like Kia suggests, I put in a bottle of "Techron" fuel system cleaner, with every oil change.

Yeah, it adds about eight bucks to the cost of an oil change, but so what if it helps the engine.

My little 1.6L four-banger has got to last me at least six years, so I'm going to do everything possible to make it go the distance. That includes fuel additives, oil additives and short OC intervals, plus lots of lovin' care!

    Cheers Mates!
