Thread: Question regarding the Electronic Steering Light in Dash

So I've noticed that when I start the car, the usual lights all turn on, then turn off. However, I've noticed that the Electronic Steering light stays on while my key is in the ON position until I crank it, then it goes away. I just wanted to check and make sure this is normal. Thanks.

Yep. The steering doesn't get power until the car is running. Thus the light stays on saying its not yet working.

don't watch it that close but sounds normal to me (its running through various checks when it does this), if it doesn't go out when you start it then I would be worried.

if you check in your owners manual it states: (page 4/56 in the US manual)

This indicator light comes on after the ignition key is turned to the ON position and then it will go out.
