don't compare 2011 service to 2012 service as they are two totally different engines for the 2.0L models and the 1.6L was changed over to GDI in 2012, so again not really comparable.
Follow your owners manual scheduled maintenance for your specific year - that's what it's there for.

PLEASE - MAKE IT EASIER FOR US TO ANSWER QUESTIONS BY FILLING OUT YOUR DRIVES AND LOCATION PROFILES.
If you are not changing the cabin air filter, the 15,000 mile service should consist of an oil change and maybe tire rotation. I sure wouldn't pay more than $75, even if they do a complete vehicle inspection.
Regarding the fuel treatment, if you have a Costco membership you can use the Techron they sell cheap in 6 packs. Costco gas can be considered equivalent to "top tier", since they use a good detergent formula. Arco, probably not so much.
Techron is recommended to be put in at every oil change if you do not use Top Tier Gas. I originally thought "what the hell, it can't hurt" and the stuff is only ~$8 a bottle. But after reading that report on GDI engines and how "sensitive" the injectors are on those cars to less than TTG, I now personally think there might be something behind KIA and the other manufacturer's recommendation about the Techron. Our 2.0L don't have GDI so we should be in the clear, but who knows what it will be like when the car has 5yrs and a 100K miles on it....
Thumbs up to Techron. I have used that religiously in my Rodeo and that truck now has 200k miles and runs like a champ. In regard to saving money on fillups, do the math some day. Wawa is always the cheapest here, so let's say Wawa is $3.20/gal and the Shell station down the street is $3.29. We'll assume you're on "E" and need 12 gallons. It's $1.08 more for every 300+ miles.
This is all anecdotal of course, and Souls aren't Rodeos, but I do put a ton of miles on my vehicles every day.. often 100+. When I switched to better fuel, I needed far less additive, my truck ran noticeably better and it actually increased my fuel mileage, 1-2 miles per gallon. I didn't believe it, so I tested it about 10 times and every time I filled up it was the same as the first time - an extra 30-40 miles per tank. (21gal tank) I went from dumping Techron in every month to dumping it in every 6 months or so. That's a huge cost savings. Again, it's purely anecdotal, but to me it's a "pay now or pay later" question. Needless to say, I will NOT be testing this out on my Soul.![]()
At the dealer and got the price down to $130 from $188
Good day!![]()
What did they do?
I notice at 30000 lube front and rear prop shaft and throttle chamber cleaning. What is a prop shaft, and I thought that the throttle chamber cleaning was a bit of a scam?
2010 Molten 4U Burner M/T
Also I talked to the dealer and I decided to put in the Chevron system fuel cleaner. All I can say is wow I never felt the car go this fast before or shift so well. I guess me putting in the arco (BP) gas wasn't the best idea ever. I guess i'll have to get use to spending the extra 10 cents a gallon for chevron.

They are charging ten cents per gallon more for Chevron in Cal.???
Around here, it's exactly the same as other nearby stations. Competition dictates price.
Some guys are skimping to save a buck or two on oil changes, then paying $8+ for a bottle of Techron gas treatment.
As "the robot" would say, "Will Robinson, that does not compute!".
I do at least one out of four fill-ups at the local Chevron station and get my Techron in my gasoline. (for FREE!)
Was there a question about a "prop shaft" ? That turns the propeller!
Seriously, those are the shafts that go from the transmission (trans-axle) to the front wheels. I've never heard of lubricating them though, although I have replaced a few.
The rubber boots on those shafts should be checked for cracks and tears, at regular maintenance intervals.
Good Luck!

YOIKS! I just enlarged and read that invoice. WOW! Over $100 labor for an oil change!
And they even charged $.98 for the Drain Plug washer, that comes FREE with the OEM oil Filter.
What a rip off!
If they did that to me, I'd be talking with my Lawyer!!!
