    Snow and Ice... anyone?

Well since the soul is such a soul model, I dont know if anyone has any experiance with the Soul on snow and ice.. I know its front wheel drive so it should be pretty good in these conditions.. But some times certain cars do some odd stuff in different conditions..

I ask because were in MN and well, over half the year its white here..

Any one gotten a chance to take a Soul out in the white stuff?

Between Minn and Maine, we are likely to get the first snow!!
Well, maybe some of our Canadian Souls will be close!!

We got a freak snow storm shortly after I bought my soul. It handled the slush on the roads much better than my husbands dodge dakota 4x4. I almost went off the road driving the truck this past year (swerved back and forth on the highway at about 80 km/h). I didn't get that slipping fear in my Soul. I do plan to buy studded winter tires for it however. And it was only that one day that it snowed.
Don't know if that answered your question or not.
On another note my sister has a Sportage up in Edmonton. We went down for Christmas this past year. If you know any thing about Alberta, it has wicked, cold, nasty winters. You could feel the traction control kick in when she was driving on ice. I used to be scared s#$t less when she drove her old Pontiac Sunfire. That was part of the reason that I looked at a Kia. So hopefully the Soul handles just as good.

And we will get it early too. I gotta start saving for my tires!
What do you guys suggest for winter rims. I love my wheels and hate the black rims that you put hubcaps(blahh) over. Do you think it would be ok just to change out the tires?????

I'm planning on getting a set of 16s for the winter. Not that it snows much in Vancouver, but if I go to the mountains (both my boys are avid snowboarders) I will need a winter tire. The best tire for this kind of setup is a Nokian WR all-weather tire. It is an all-round tire with the actual snow flake symbol. It's perfect for severe weather but also excellent for rain and very decent for dry traction too. If you don't get enough snow in winter to warrant all-out snow tires, these are the Shizzle!
From November until March this is the rubber my Soul will wear.

I am thinking of maybe Blizzacks, my brother-in-law has had good luck with them. I am also thinking of going with 16's.
