Mine doesn't do that, how do you guys get yours to do that?
I don't even have keyless entry, so mine don't do anything. Which would be perfect if only they had a key operated lock on the passenger side. Wife always complains that I don't open the door for her anymore, LOL.

I can't find any mention of this in the 2012 manual.

But I did discover how to put my remote unlock into central unlock mode so pressing the unlock button the first time unlocks all the doors instead of just the drivers door.

To see a larger version, right click and select open in new tab.

Well seeing not to many people are aware of this feature and seeing it was in a totally safe place to leave keys in floorboard UNATTENDED, I'm sure its easier said than done. (The many methods of hiding key outside of vehicle) especially after someone already played the role of DA and brought to peoples attention.
If your unaware of a specific feature it doesn't cross your mind your being a DA.

My Soul I can unlock with remote wait 30 seconds and they'll automatically lock. Try it.

    This needs to be addressed.
Yeah I love New technology its great but even new technology needs tweaked every now and then.
just trying to follow this, and don't see a problem, there is nothing to address. To cover what other members have been saying and just tried it again myself. Yes it auto locks if you unlock it with the remote and don't get to the vehicle within 30 seconds, it also auto locks when you put it in drive to pull away. However, it does not auto lock when you simple get out of the car and shut the door (I leave it open all night besides my house), it will lock if you manually push the lock button the door. If you leave your key in the ignition, get out and try to lock it with your other key, it won't lock. Remove the key from the ignition and you can lock it either with door button or the other remote but it won't do it automatically.
Grabbing a cup of coffee with the keys in the ignition and engine running it won't lock automatically (but not a bright thing to do), also without engine running it won't lock automatically.

Not a problem, just learn to use it properly.

My Soul does lock when I park it after driving it home. I pull into the garage and put it in park, shut it off and the doors are unlocked. I remove the key from the ignition, get out, shut the door leaving the doors unlocked. I come out sometime later, and the car is all locked up.

Nice... no more worrying if I forgot to lock my car.

Ok, thanks, I will have to figure it out completely.
All I know is my wife locked the keys in our Sorento just trying to leave me a car to drive home that I didn't have a spare key to.
Thanks for checking into this for me.

    lol, are you serious.....

you mean, you deliberately leave your car keys in the car... in a deliberately unlocked car...?

living in a PRESENTLY 'safe' neighborhood doesnt give one the excuse to be careless...

long island, eh? im going to put up a local bulletin and send all of the Houston thugs your way... hope you dont mind lol

I don't know why your 2012 is doing that, I turn my 2013 off, get out with the remote and keep it in the garage all night and it never locks after 30 seconds. I can get in the next day and its still unlocked. Like most, if I unlock it and not open the door, yes then it will lock in 30 seconds. I love the way mine works that way. Its impossible for my keys to get locked inside.

I also LOVE the auto lock and auto unlock. I love getting out and the back hatch is already unlocked. Perfect!
