    Question Rattle in dash

We bought our Ghost about a month ago with 2,500 miles on it. It has an on again/off again rattle in the dash. It seems to be coming from the far right/passenger side, but we aren't sure. I could not make it "magically" happen for the KIA service guy, today. Has anyone had this problem or am I the "special" one? Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated!!!

I had the same problem or at least a similar one... there are many threads on this in this forum. I thought mine was in the dash , in the glove compartment but through the help of this forum found out it was the liner. If you open the passenger door, and look straight ahead you'll see the black plastic liner. There should be a screw just behind the open door.... either that screw is loose or another screw holding the liner in place. As a quick fix I put some duct tape on until I had the time to tighten the screw. This worked for me.... hope it does for you to.

some cars have a rattle within the passenger door. But its a Kia job to strip it down and cure it..... usually the rattles develop and become consistant over time so its easier to demo them.

I have had an annoying rattle on the passengers side, which I thought was in the door or Seat Belt, when driving. I was looking over that way when driving and seen the passengers head rest vibrating. I pushed it all the way down and my rattling stopped.

There is a gap between windshield and dash on passenger side that when stuffed with rolled up napkin goes away. Looking for a more appealing fix. Mine also gets quieter as the car heats up.

I had a rattle that was driving me nuts as it sounded like it was coming from the glove box but it turned out to be sun glasses in the overhead compartment.

On mine, the 2 screws that hold the "Oh Crap!" handles were loose & caused vibration noise. Easy fix, open plastic screw covers & tighten with Phillips head screwdriver.

There are soooooo many sources for rattles and they are often coming from a different area of the interior than one would originally suspect.
Seat belts tapping against plastic door panels, junk in the trunk, glove box projectile and the list goes on...
You also find that rattles and squeaks will come & go with weather/temperature changes as plastic panels contract and expand.
I found that my car always gets quieter when it rains as rain water fills body voids outside.
I guess I could drive with the window open in the rain in an effort to cure interior rattles but somehow that seems like it would be uncomfortable.
I did drive through the car wash once with all the windows open
It got real quiet once all the screaming stopped!

I have a passenger-side rattle too that sounds like it's coming from the vent. It only happens sometimes, and never when there's been a passenger in the car (so far). I'll check out some of these possible causes.

I've only had my Soul about a month and would hate to have to listen to the rattle for years. My old VW had so many weird noises and problems that I was really enjoying the lack of noise until this started.
